Understood.Finished the OT with my kid. He liked it. But he prefers the PT as it has way more lightsaber/Jedi stuff. Doesn't seem like he's interested in watching the ST anytime soon. He's seen enough YT videos that he's already convinced they suck.
As a kid, ESB was always my least favorite of the OT. But watching them back now, it has clearly aged the best of the 3.
It's not RVOTS. It is just ROTS.Understood.
I’m a child of the OT and used to not like RoJ for certain aspects. Good but not as great as the other two.
Same with the OT. AOTC is near the bottom of all of the barrel but throughly enjoyed the other two. RVOTS is up there with ESB in my opinion. ESB is hard to top but ANH is very close, RVOTS a shade behind ANH.
Then there is the sequels. Enjoyed TFA was meh on TROS.
After that? I do not acknowledge that there is another SW movie in the ST. Sure there is a movie but it’s not SW.
Others may disagree which is fine. To me TLJ is not only the worst SW property of all time (and that includes THS and BFE) but the worst movie of all time.

They are the anti-trilogy.TLJ was crafted as a standalone piece of provocative, subversive content, prioritising shock value over its role in the Star Wars saga. It was disposable. Unlike the original and prequel trilogies, which have endured through repeated viewings due to their cohesive storytelling and reverence for the franchise’s legacy, TLJ feels disconnected from the established narrative. It disregards the thematic and emotional continuity of Star Wars, particularly the expectation that Luke Skywalker, post-Return of the Jedi, would become a great Jedi Master who trains a new generation—a fundamental aspect of the saga’s “happily ever after” DNA.
Regardless of the EU or what Disney says. That is not what happened with Luke. We watched the OT for decades and it is fundamental to the core of those films that Luke didn't end up like that.
TLJ fails to honor what came before or set up what follows. Instead it disrupts and needlessly so. While TFA had flaws, TLJ’s disregard for the broader story renders the sequel trilogy disposable, lacking the rewatchability that defines Star Wars. The sequels feel at odds with the originals, undermining their authenticity.

Yes, The Force Awakens more or less pidgeonholed Luke into being more of a reluctant trainer like Yoda before him because of errors he made as a master. The Luke Skywalker of the OT would’ve immediately been there for Han/Leia to help them, instead he stayed in hiding while an evil power grew. That’s on TFA for setting up.Isn't it The Force Awakens that really set this up as an impossibility, though? The Luke in hiding thing is the central MacGuffin of that whole movie, and is pretty at odds with a Jedi Master proudly training a new generation. After all, there aren't any new, younger Jedi seen in that movie at all... outside of Kylo Ren.

Hot take maybe, but I put most all the blame on Kennedy and Iger. Either one one of them could have stepped in and said "nope, this needs to center around the original characters." And if what the people like Arndt who were working the story before JJ came on are to be believed. They were told not to focus on Luke. So the signs all point to Kennedy wanting her own star wars and Iger believed and went along with her nonsense. I'm not going say JJ holds no blame, but come on. We all knew who JJ was before he came on. He was going to mystery box us and he wasn't good at finishing. But again, in the end, it was all pushed through by Kennedy and Uncle Bobby.Luke had to be sidelined somehow to increase the stakes and the threat of the First Order. I blame JJ just as much as anyone else for how it was done. And he should have known better than anyone, fans wanted (and deserved) at least one scene with the big 3 together.

Maybe we should start a thread specifically for your parody memes so they don't clog up the "news".

Well as you like to say, "Back up the truck with cash" and I'm sure he'll show up if asked.Usually none of “articles” like this are true at all…but if it is at all, it represents “circling the bowl with a paddle”

Mark Hamill Reveals Why He Won’t Return for Star Wars 10 (& Fans Might Agree)

Oh rightWell as you like to say, "Back up the truck with cash" and I'm sure he'll show up if asked.
Also just my two cents, but I don't take anything he said as being negative about the franchise, just a man who realizes that its probably best to move on and stop trying to drag up characters for nostalgia purposes to get that quick fanboi reaction.
