The writing was already on the wall for this anyways, so it would only make it official. But I think for the most part Disney is happy with what they've seen which is why its happening.
I would also suspect they believe that the change will have a positive impact on M&G, people just going because Kennedy has been replaced.

As much input and interest Tom Cruise voices on film sets…. I am surprised he has not attempted directing a film yet
