Meh. I guess it won’t work if you don’t have FB(?) File too large to attach.

This was my store today (the line got longer after a customer made this video.)

We sold a little over 800 of the new Joe Jonas album, and Joe met every person!

Also, I’m beat! 😆 😴
Wow, that's a LOT of just one album. So do people who go specifically for that also look at and maybe buy other albums while they are there? Do you do a lot of these promotions? How do you get big artists to do something like this? Your store must be a pretty big deal to be able to do that...congratulations!! Get some rest!! Looks like you've earned it!

Some buy other things, but security likes to move them along.

We have contacts at the labels and let it be known we are interested. Everything has to line up just right, so they are somewhat infrequent events. (We once had a pallet of Post Malone albums shipped to our store in anticipation of a meet & greet. He canceled, and it all got shipped back.)

Yeah, it seems like it would take a LOT of work to organize an event like that. To be able to have adequate staff on the day of the event, plus security, stock, etc. You totally deserve some downtime now. I hope it was at least fun, too. I'm sure it can go either way with a celebrity...you never know if they are going to be down to earth or really diva-like.

WOW what a fun video to see! Very exciting for you! I hope besides buying Joe' album they purchases some other stuff from you too or at least will be back to buy more in the future.

Once that Boo to You song gets stuck in my head, it takes days to get it out. I'd love to see it but not gonna do it.

While I don’t want to be the person to convince you to go and then have a terrible time (crowds, rain, whatever, etc.) if there’s anyway you can work out the finances to go (skip a day in the park to go to the party at night, etc.) do it.

What if you just stay at MK during the overlap time (between 4 - 7pm) and just absorb as much of the Halloween atmosphere as possible? I understand it’s hard when your travel partner isn’t as enthused either.

Note I say all of this as someone who is having serious Disney withdrawal and who loves Halloween. 😉

I'm one of those that if I think too hard about it, I'll talk myself into it, so I'm trying not to think about it. 😆 I do like your idea of wandering around from 4-7. I'll see if I can get Em to do that. We all ready have your park passes with parkhopper purchased so I'm sure she'll want to head elsewhere but I'll pull the mom card for at least one day. 😉

Tony, that's freakin amazing!! Congratulations!! Someday, I'd love to stop by your store if I ever get farther south than Disney!

Right!! Our first party, I paid $119 each for my family of five and didn't even flinch (well, I probably did at the time), but paying $209 for one now....... WHAT!!! If Em was excited about it, I'd probably pay it, but she's not at all.
I remember the early years of the Christmas party, they were around $45-$65 each. I pondered and talked myself out of it! 🤦🏻‍♂️ At the time, we could get a 4 day pass for around $120-$140 or so, I believe.

MK closes at 6 pm to day guests on party nights. You’ll have one less wandering hour. 😉

Honestly the fall/Halloween atmosphere - scarecrows, Jack ‘o Lanterns, fall foliage garland - is only in the Town Square hub and down Main Street. All guests get to experience it from August to October. The parties only “plus it” with fog, projections, and special lighting.

You’ll have that “Halloween feeling” without attending a party, @Zipadeelady. (And you won’t have spent a lot of money on an event that could be “washed out.”)

Now this is the kind of analysis I do! 👏🏻👏🏻

Especially with the included snacks being mostly sugar-laden candy and so forth, it ends up not-so-worth-it for not-so-scary. We did it once.

I’d prefer the After Hours, but I think at this point the best value is to stay in a Deluxe resort and do their late night extended hours thing. Instead of paying a high ticket price for each person in your group, your real cost is the difference in price between where you usually stay vs. a deluxe. And it covers everyone in your group.

With all that said, I still may blow money (points) on a Christmas party and a dessert party - once.

Thanks Tu! This makes me feel much better about our decision.

Not Disney related, but we are on our way to Pigeon Forge/Dollywood and had to make a stop. Logan and I got brisket sandwiches and Owen and Brian just got snacks.

And since I'm posting, I'll include a few pictures from Logan’s graduation from University Of Iowa a few weekends ago.
