Then I was older than the “perfect age”…because there was a kinda sadness that set in after Jedi…life moved on…but it never felt quite that same. It was really the time and place culturally…and the OT was indicative of that.

Little did we know of just how off the rails it could go? They made movies to suck on nostalgia 30 years later and completely whiffed
I understand they wanted to bring in new characters. There could have been proper ways to pass the torch to the new characters but they completely blew it in my opinion.

We wanted more films with the OT characters after Jedi. When the books came out, it was the sad realization that was never going to happen. Any chance at more SW from GL was going to be restricted to PT.
Well we’re going down a well trodden road

It didn’t look that bad until they rolled the geriatric 3 out there in 2015…they just weren’t the characters in many ways. Especially Fisher.

The late 90’s was the time. George didn’t want to pay ford…for sure…and I’m sure the backstories seemed more refreshing. And the guy had a hard time getting a script done…so that would have probably lead to a flaming dumpster anyway

But we can always wonder what it.

The clip below is when we needed them back…not what we got

The story is George Lucas had scripts for a number of full seasons ready to go for 1313 dealing with Boba Fett and the underworld. It was suppose to be TV-MA. He was just looking for a company to distribute it but then the slave traders came.....

My kid really liked the Kenobi series. I liked it more the second time around as well. I'm past trying to nitpick these things on how they fit or make sense in the overall timeline. As flawed as the Kenobi series was, it was great seeing Ewan back in that role and doing his thing. I'm all in for another season if they decide to make it.

Yep. At the time of the sale they had dozens of Star Wars TV scripts in the can, as well as treatments for a sequel trilogy crafted by Michael Arndt.

I thought I read where Arndt was working on it but never completed it. He was either taking too long or just gave up which is whey they went in another direction.

One of the first publicly-facing chatbots a few years ago (I think it was on Twitter) also quickly devolved to violence and racism.

They learn from the best.
I think this is really just human nature. I for example would never actually commit those things in reality, but you bet your butt I’d troll an AI program for comedic purposes if presented the opportunity. Disney better make sure a program like this is locked down tighter than Fort Knox before they use it with Mickey lol.
