HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

They might actually be planning that. If what they said is to be believed then more than just TOT is coming to that plot. TOT is smaller than quinjet but that plot isn’t that large. If they want TOT a shop/QSFB and maybe another playhouse in the woods style attraction they are likely going to need the second wedge on the other side of the maintenance track. This is probably the best time to use it if they ever decide to use it because that plot is too small and messy to be its own expansion
I’ve superimposed the train barn on where I think is one of many plausible location (other than copying Disneyland and putting it near the parade route). The train barn is small enough to fit in the tree berm, between the service road of the Pavilion expansion pad and the service road for potential DT Disney shops.

Honestly, although it kinda shows that the Spiderman attraction looks a lot like TOT. Can't they just do something similar to Battle at the Ministry from Epic Universe? Having a TOT style ride vehicle with a 360-body manoeuvre? I feel like this would be much better and they don't have to make the building necessarily tall for it... Especially since it's probably mostly screen-based.

I had this thought too but I see a few potential issues with this. First, concept art for spiderman showed a lap bar which would indicate something more thrilling than what Ministry is with it’s seatbelt. Second, the show building for a Ministry type ride would probably need to be much larger than that of a tower.

On a personal point, whatever ride they put in that plot, it shouldn’t just be a screen based attraction. There needs to be some physical sets, or even better, animatronics.

Regardless this is basically their only chance to move it because if they don’t then that wedge will forever remain dead land because it simply doesn’t have enough space to be anything more than an extension of the old quinjet plot. If they do use both halves then the complete plot could probably fit a courtyard, TOT, a gift shop and QSFB, some bathrooms, an exit gift shop and some kinda show/experience.

It’s not like the plot is used for anything right now because of its location

Or maybe something like WDW's TOT? The vehicle can move on a track, then goes to an elevator shaft?

I really doubt they are doing a standard droptower ride tho (like DCA) since we already have parachutes themed to Toy Story... It has to be different.
The DCA tower isn’t just a drop tower either. Paris has parachutes and the cheaper design ToT. Hopefully it is indeed something new (if they really have to go with a tower attraction)

I think it should be something new and innovative. It’s about time HKDL gets a proper E-ticket, or an even better F-ticket attraction similar to the impact of Rise, SHDL Pirates, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen Journey.

I feel like mystic is an F ticket for the hyper parks fans but you aren’t selling a casual Disney fan on hk just with mystic
From the current portfolio of attractions, Mystic is one of the most creative and amusing attractions to come out of modern imagineering. The first use of a trackless system outside of Japan (Pooh and Aquatopia).

The bar has been raised so much higher since Mystic opened though. Casuals also expect to IP.

Yes! But again couldn't really expect anything from WDI. I mean... we're supposed to receive the quinjet attraction with a brand-new ride system but clearly that didn't work out. I guess it's kind of a good thing that we're not getting the same thing DCA is getting? But I would really love to see something more than just a droptower attraction since we already have something nearby...

Absolutely. I’d take a DCA clone any day over a tall tower. More so if it’s taller than the castle or obtrusive. If the towers structure is a clone it will be higher than the castle.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds the idea of a tower higher (and certainly bulkier) than the castle a really bad design choice after spending so much time and money trying to build up the castle as the park's focal point. Perhaps they can minimise its visual impact from having it located way over to one side of the park, but those towers tend to loom over large sections of the parks they're in.

You’re certainly not. Sightlines could be a real Issue especially walking out of Adventureland or in the back half of Fantasyland. The castle and the mountains are the tallest things around as they should be.

Oh yes, I didn't even think about how it would potentially diminish the scale of the mountains as a backdrop.

Even in Tomorrow land it's much taller than other buildings. Iron man would look very small next to ToT.
Also, now that I think about it, HKDL's Space Mountain will look positively tiny with ToT looming behind it!
