At this point it should be fairly easy to spot when something is going to go off the rails.
It actually didn’t go off the rails when she said it. No-one noticed or cared about her remarks concerning the original film until they were suddenly dredged up months later by certain individuals and outlets determined to stir the pot. They certainly succeeded.

What are you talking about?
You know what I’m talking about.

Every time I say something, you like to directly or indirectly, accuse me of fabricating the story.

Last time you couldn’t possibly believe that my daughter didn’t like TBA.

As before you can speak with her directly if you would like.

So either stop making direct or veiled comments about my honesty or take me up on my offer.

I edited my post to say that it was a joke to another poster who apparently understood it and responded.

Do you think everything is about you?

She made multiple comments that were interpreted as criticizing the original movie. A lot of people care passionately about this stuff so I'm not really surprised there was a negative reaction to them. I do think because we're Disney people it's a bigger "storm" here than in the world at large though.
I don’t find the reaction to those comments at all proportionate. Indeed, the vitriol was bizarre at best and unhinged at worst. I am someone who cares passionately about the original film; that doesn’t give me the right to lose all reason when someone criticises it.

Actually I believe her comments on the original film went unnoticed for over a year, and likely would have continued to go unnoticed if it wasn't for some drummed up attempt to foster some outrage.

Molehill into a mountain. She said absolutely zero wrong about the original movie, and no one has the right to be offended unless they wrote the original movie (which was never original, anyway.)

No offense but I don't believe that was even about you, either directly or indirectly, as I didn't read it that way.

Well the poster has a history of questioning my honesty. I’m the only one who brought up net worth, next thing you know they have a comment on that.

Forgive me for jumping to conclusions.

You have a history of doing it.

Your post wasn’t clear until you edited it.

Offer still stands you and your family are always welcome to dinner. 😀

As more reviews have come in the Critics RT score has bounced around, and is now starting to go up -

I suspect it'll land in the mid-50s just other of the live-action remakes.

She's also a Disney fan. Probably one of the biggest Disney fans cast in a princess movie so it's unfortunate that narrative ran wild.

Well because its largely coming from😗 an echo chamber that is fed by the media that keeps the story going. So it then gets inevitable discuss🤬ed here, and rise and repeat. If it wasn't brought up so often here by those that think it'll have an impact then it wouldn't beN c c cvg h discussed and would largely die off here.
But that doesn't answer my question. If it's just this echo chamber, and the normies don't care, why does it matter? It seems to me that someone brings it up, the Zegler defence team swings into action, and the same points get hashed out again. If it's left alone, and no one responds, it dies off. It seems there's some white knighting going on.

She said what she said. It's going to make some people mad, others not so much. This kind of thing has been going on for at least my lifetime. Again, it's more amplified now that's why it's as important as ever to be careful what you say. Or more importantly how you say it.
