There’s something in our brains that motivates us to defend what we love to a t. that motivation can often blind us. Let’s use a comparison. Someone might say phineas and ferb a show I love doesn’t exactly have the best animation especially in the earlier seasons. My first thought is to prove that statement wrong. But if I take a step back for a minute I can kinda see it. It doesn’t mean I like the show any less it just means it’s not flawless. My point is take a step back for a moment. See how you feel about it then. You might come to a new conclusion. Snow White is a good movie and an artistic masterpiece but the romantic arc isn’t the best ever written. And that’s ok. It was fine for the time but if we’re going to remake it now maybe we should change that. try to improve it.there’s nothing wrong with that is there?I didn't hear her use the words creepy either, but I don't think her statements were taken out of context. I found the original interview in full and don't see anything that changes the meaning of what she said.
"The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so. There's a big focus on her love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird! Weird!"
That's the quote that bothers people. I don't think her statements are an accurate description of the original movie so I can understand why someone who loves the movie would be upset by it. I can't know anyone's motives though.
