Yeah, I’m just making an informed judgement based on the company’s history, their words and action, the policies of the US government, an extensive knowledge of business history, and some understanding of economics.
I do believe something will happen with it in the relatively near term, whether or not it's what was announced. I doubt they want to continue paying for the rights to something as its popularity wanes, and there's so little to the set of the ride itself that it should be pretty minimal to overlay. Whether or not they recalibrate on the content of the overlay is another question entirely.
I believe they retheme RnRC cause that fits with what they do. I'm much more skeptical on what they do with Muppets 3D
This is entirely reasonable.
Keeping the pre-show seems super easy to me. It's already a recording studio that you can just lightly re-dress with some Muppet (or whatever) references while throwing two minutes of schlock on the screen. They already produce longer segments with the Muppets live on stage for various events. Everything about the proposed overlay is already likely to be incredibly cheap because of the nature of the existing ride and pre-show.
still insane we are getting door coaster and villains. Wish the price for them wasn’t so sucky though. The land should be fun. This probably was gonna happen eventually tho. I imagine star tours is next.

Considering they've literally doubled down on the RnRC announcement today, reiterating the retheme in the blog post about the closing dates for Muppets, they're clearly continuing with Muppets RnRC. Whether or not the retheme will be good is different to if it will actually happen.
Why can't they do both? They have more than enough space to do it. I'm sorry but the synergy crap has to go. It's sad that everything now is based on many LLs and merch it sells.
They left out the one thing everyone wants to know ~ a date.
