I still am a trumpeter of futurama. Fits the system perfectly. Would work for both coasts. If dhs is becoming the “stuff disney acquired” park, might as well embrace it right?

I love Cosmic Rewind, I just wish they put it in HS. Perhaps with a Star Tours retheme and a Dr Strange ride to make a little Marvel area?

I like it for what it is. A fun diversion that I can hop on most of the time at the drop of a big a** hat and get random scenes. SW is a great IP for this. If they retheme and keep the same concept, they need to be ready with multiple scenes and come up with a reason for the pause in the middle.

Just came back from Tokyo Disney and I really hope they can do theming like they do at their parks! It was so refreshing to see. Details so fantastic especially Fantasy Springs. I love the American parks but Tokyo really excelled and can only hope the new stuff they bring lives up to it.

My sister's upset about it, for what it's worth.
I've never been on, but I will say that the area had a general cool vibe to it that I liked and it made me wish I wasn't such a ride wimp. Like, even without knowing about Aerosmith past "a notable band", the image of a guy with an electric guitar standing on a car was an inherently awesome looking one. The area (including the gift shop) made me enthusiastic about the ride.
She said something similar, that (while it's eroded recently with less interested CMs) that was the cool ride with the cool people. She also says it had a big affect on her music tastes.
Muppets is the exact opposite of cool, so I guess I should be grateful because I won't feel tempted anymore.

To be fair Aerosmith hasn’t been cool since the 80s, maybe the 90s. They were near the end of their popularity when the ride opened. Their heyday was really in the 70s before Steven Tyler and other members of the band got heavily into drugs. After rehab and cleaning themselves up they had a rebirth in the mid 80s when they joined with Run DMC to make a remake of Walk This Way. They went on to have some other hit songs and popular videos on MTV in the 90s including that song from the movie Armageddon. I am sure there were ongoing discussions to replace Aerosmith at some point but once Steven Tyler got into some personal trouble and was accused of crimes it was a matter of when not if and more importantly who to replace them with. They could have gone with something really cheesy like Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers so I think the Muppets are a fine compromise.

So why are we getting the door coaster instead of a clone of the Tokyo Monsters ride, which fits the IP better and is much more the sort of thing MGM needs?
This is one of the problems with being entirely IP focused in general and with the current slate of announcements in particular it invites comparison. Two of the major additions, Cars and Monsters, look a lot less appealing then attractions and lands based on the same IPs that have existed in other parks for years.

Why not both….plenty of parking lot back there for 2 show buildings.
Tokyo monsters ride system pitch: theme it to a muppet studio tour and stick it where Indy is?
Do you know of a sink hole there? Or is that where the tunnel you've been digging comes up???

If they use the footprint of the theater, and the additional area there, there seems to be about enough room to put an actual dark ride there and have the Door Coaster down the street. Maybe they could move the Laugh Floor into Pizzarizzo...get it out of Tomorrowland.... Isn't there a Disney IP that would actually fit Tomorrowland...aside from the Tomorrowland Movie and Meet The Robinsons?...Perhaps Elio?

I’d love to see the ride system in WDW, but I’d hate to see the same IP in different areas of the same park. AGAIN.
I also don’t know that “Ride & Go Seek” really fits the Muppets vibe. I’d much rather see it with something like Zootopia where there’s a fun world to explore.
Yeah, this idea would work better without muppets RNRC.
As for the ride system, I sometimes wonder if a straight muppets dark ride would be as popular as Disney would like it to be with todays guests, and would be a ride people would seek out, as much as i would love great muppet movie ride to happen. Ride and go seek i imagined because its a sorta ride where you “activate” gags with your flashlight, so there could be potential with that, and it’d def be popular.
Trying to find a ground up ride concept for the muppets that most guests would like and line up for is kinda tough imo.

I've suggested this before, but it could work well for the Muppets: let's say the plot is that the Muppets are performing at the Hollywood Bowl or something, but everyone's out doing their own thing and the show's in five minutes. Kermit and Fozzie enlist our help to find everyone, and we get aboard our vehicles, armed with flashlights, and search Hollywood for them. Potential for a lot of fun gags and scenes.
Or, as @The Leader of the Club suggested, it could make a fun Zootopia ride. Zootopia Flashlight Tag or something.
I mean the real issue is muppets are kinda locked behind sunset with RNRC, and even after villains show is done, Sunset showcase does not have enough space around it to build a whole dark ride. And i dont think they’d expand left of RNRC in the backstage for the muppets.
Unless a hypothetical second muppets ride is at a different park at dhs, and they aren’t really next to eachother.

I think as some of the insiders have eluded, the plan for Muppets is to integrate them into smaller attractions in various places vs having a full blown Muppets land. I don’t see a Muppets ride being added in addition to RNRC. They could have appearances in other places though. I think that’s the best we are going to get.
