EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

You guys think he likes Dragon Tales or....
I'm a big Dragon Tales guy myself. I don't wear it on my sleeve like some do, but it was a great show when I was growing up. Still wish I could have seen whatever this is:

They have an original IP that could be a huge franchise like Pirates turned out to be, but rather than move forward with any of this they keep beating a dead horse with sequel after sequel...and shoehorning ip into places it doesn't actually fit. The entire area around The Imagination Pavilion could be developed into something completely spectacular... The subject matter warrants it...A Wonderland of Imagination... Develop an origin story big-budget film for Dreamfinder ... I can't see any way this could fail if they do it right....and the park presence could be insane. It would be a HUUUGE success in the Asian parks as well. Maybe OLC needs to get this franchise and do it right.... I could care less about the new Cars thing, but an expanded and well done Figment and Dreamfinder in Epcot would certainly get my vote....
I don't like the Idea of Dreamfinder and figment being international characters. The fact that they're distinctly EPCOT adds a lot to their charm for me.

So you would prefer they do nothing with the IP but a popcorn bucket instead of allow OLC to develop something amazing around the IP....which could then end up in stateside parks? I don't like any IP less because it is also being used by a Disney park in another country....
I do love that Dreamfinder and Figment were always EPCOT original characters....but I am sad to see them ignored, and having about the worst pavilion and attraction in the park.... and while they could and should be re-launching them with the most amazing project, they are instead intent on ruining the MK with inappropriate IP, and cramming other IP where it doesn't belong... It’s not that I don’t want disney to do nothing with JII, and if it means having OLC do it I’m definitely on board, l just like how all of Epcot’s future world attractions (excluding Soarin) are distinct to Epcot. Exclusive attractions are a part of what make Epcot unique since you can’t have those types of experiences anywhere else.

I’ll still be shocked if Figment ever gets more love than a new film in the Magic Eye theater.

Seems like something Disney would do. Placate fans with a new Figment film while retheming the dark ride to tie it into an IP guests can find on Disney+.

The new meet-and-greet makes me happy, but I wonder how long the current ride will last. 2030s?! 2040s?!

Well if the rumors are to be believed, we would see the figment ride updates around 2032 (50 year anniversary)
That's still almost a decade away. Do you know how dated the ride will feel in 2032?! Just look at the CGI on Figment. So so bad. In 2002 it looked passable I guess but by 2010 it already looked very cheap. It's just such a glaring issue. And 30 years of this version is ridiculous. Again I don't hate the current ride, but it should've been reworked at least 5-7 years ago.

I do hate the current version and it is a sad ghost of what it once was... The original version would have been dated in some ways and not at all in others.... It was mostly timeless... The current version looked dated the day it opened.

I agree and wish that they would update it sooner - this is the classic disney cycle though; when things are good stop investing and focus just on milking the guests at the cost of deteriorating brand value and quality; then try to play catchup but have it always be later than we want and/or not as good because they have to fix so many things that have become dated. Like even with Epcot's overhaul being "complete" you still have so many old and dated things in World Showcase + SSE + Figment + Living Seas + Mission Space. So it's like where do they even start?

Epcot is definitely not "complete". Not to mention Wonders of Life. It will sit abandoned possibly for another decade or two now that the Play Pavillion has been cancelled.

I have a fear at the back of my head, this gut feeling, that if they renovate JII and SSE, they'll actually make it way worse than it is now, but I really hope they do it well. With Tony Baxter helping on a JII rework i'd be really optimistic but I dunno if that'll happen.
