I'm sorry I'm not familiar with any "fake reviews" that Disney actually got caught posting for TBA. Can anyone prove that claim that it was Disney that did this if it really happened, or is this again supposition based on a personal belief that someone couldn't possibly like the attraction?

For example I can say I like what I see with TBA, and Disney isn't paying me a dime to say that.

Again sounds more like a conspiracy theory.

I'm not saying anything, you're the one making the claim Disney is posting "fake reviews" on not only their content but now attractions. So the burden of proof is on you since you're making the claim.

Point is these fake reviews appeared over multiple social media platforms following the same format.

So it was an organized campaign by someone.

And even if there were some bots that posted some positive review tweets I'm still not sure how that is some smoking gun that it was Disney. Or that the RT score by critics was some how bought and "fake" for Disney content. Again where is the actual proof? If this was presented in court as evidence the trial would be dismissed in 30 seconds, it doesn't hold up.

You're trying to say there is a "there" there but its just supposition at this point. For all we know it could have been some rando Disney fan who likes Tiana and wants to combat all the backlash the project has faced for the last 4 years. Or for that matter someone who hates Tiana and trying to frame Disney for positive reviewing bombing. So many other possibilities besides it being Disney.

And no for the record it was not me, I'm not that invested in any project to put that much effort. Posting on this site is all the effort I have. Besides I'd cover my tracks better.

Well in the cases of negative review bombing of SW and other content on RT, in the past it was RT themselves that provided the proof it was bad actors who did it. So in that case it has more solid evidence. Which is why they started turning off the audience reviews in a lot on a lot of content.

But I agree, especially in this case, there is no concrete proof either way of the source of said "bot" review.

So Disney is running an influence campaign and a "payola" bribe scam at the same time just to get higher RT scores? Have any actual proof of that?

Sounds like the stuff of conspiracy theorists that "just don't like that critics rate something higher than they feel it should be" rather than being true. And if true it would be the biggest scandal since the payola scandals of the 1960s. One wonders why if its true there is not a suit filed and investigation opened up by the DOJ right now against Disney (and any other studios involved or is it only Disney that does this "supposed" campaign) for this practice? Or could it be that critics really do just like/rate things differently than the regular audience?

Doesn’t matter what the credits say, end of the day the audience score is the best measure. It’s usually very accurate. Fallout, Three body problem, inside out, marvelous miss maisel, Force Awakens, Last Jedi all have very accurate audience scores, give or take +\- 5 points for personal opinion.

And if Disney is "buying" positive reviews, then how is it possible for some content to have a preponderance of bad reviews (check out the scores for Secret Invasion)?

But, cool conspiracy theory, bro.

It balances each other out. Rotten tomato user reviews I’ve found to be very accurate.
Three body problem is at 79%. I liked it more but can agree with that score.
Fallout 89%, agree but again I liked it more than that.

Acolyte isn’t finished its run yet, we will see what the audience says after the show ends.

I think we can all agree, professional movie critics aren’t necessary anymore but word of mouth from fans most certainly is

Its been discussed many times over how the RT audience score is broken -

RT has tried to make changes, but the review bombing still happens. Again its why RT turns off audience reviews on some content they deem to be getting review bombed.

As for whether it balances out, that remains to be seen. I have yet to see this occur in any meaningful way.

And? Were any of those a Disney film or shows? I'd really like to know. As I understand it that PR firm is used exclusively by Indie studios not the mainstream studios like Disney.

Also this is something that a bunch of us have been saying for YEARS now, don't trust the RT scores.

And I think this sums this up based on what one reviewer interviewed said in one of those articles.....

If it turns out that the general audience can give a better idea of the quality of show or movie than a critic, then we don’t need critics at all.

If I go to RT enough times and find the audience score aligns much closer to my view than the critic score, it won’t take me long to just ignore the critics altogether.

In my half century+ time on this planet I learned a LONG time ago that critics (nor the general public for that matter) don't represent my tastes and views. Its why I never put any stock in any reviews overall.

As I said in this thread and others, I like what I like and dislike what I don't. No review or opinion of someone else is going to sway that.

But that still doesn't answer the question, was any of that tied to Disney?

Wow, they got caught alright. Those are textbook bot accounts and posts. I suspect that many firms do this. Still, it's too bad to see large firms transparently engage in this behavior. Bots lower the quality of the discourse online and skew perceptions. It's manipulative. While Disney clearly contracted with someone to do this, this is still blatantly against the X terms of service. Disney has all sorts of official PR and media channels to reach the public. This is neither necessary or tasteful.
