Very true, but luckily it'll be standby before too long and none of this will matter anymore.

You definitely need a reservation to enter the VQ.

My understanding is that you don’t need to have entered that park if you go to MK after 2pm on the weekday dates. But that part is ambiguous - it could be they’ve just quoted the standard wording for park reservations.

They change the rules so often it's hard to keep up with. Passholders can enter any park after 2 PM except for Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays (which is why the June 16th date was withheld in the announcement). My understanding is that if you don't have any park reservations, you can enter MK after 2 PM but you won't be able to join the VQ until then. Otherwise, as long as you have a reservation for any of the four parks you can join the VQ right at 1 PM, regardless of where you are.

Purely speculating because I also don't fully understand how it works, but I'd say plan to be inside a park before 1 PM regardless to maximize your chances. Assuming you can join the VQ after entering the park without a reservation, I doubt there would be any boarding groups left by then.

That's my understanding as well, but will it work out in practice is anyone's guess!

Sorry I’m sure this question has been answered. If I’m at my Disney hotel and I join the virtual Q before 7am and get a slot for the ride that’s fine. I take it it’s going to take a lot of luck to get a slot first 2 weeks of July?

You can get a VQ before 7am if you are at the resorts?

The problem is that every VQ is gone within several seconds. So during the preview period, if you go directly to MK after 2pm, there will be no VQ to join.

I've always hovered my thumb over "Join Virtual Queue" at 7am and tapped it as soon as the clock turns 7:00. I guess there's a knack for it. Good luck!

My hunch is that BTMRR will be closing for a year long refurb after Tiana opens. They need increased throughput for Tiana to make up for the difference of another ride being down. You're only "guaranteed" TBA if you schedule an available time in the app after purchasing G+.
