To all that come to this happy place, Welcome!

Some people (and places) are worth melting for - Florida in late May /early June to visit Disney World is one of those places

Yes - it is time to head south again - this time it is just Tricia and I. We need time to de-stress from a very busy few months because...

Cassie and Shane got married!!! On May 4th!!! - May the Force be with you!!

We did a similar getaway in November 2019 after my older daughter Stephanie's wedding

(Yes - both daughters are married and moved out - the nest is empty!!)

Trip Details:

Monday May 29 - Sunday June 4
Yacht Club
Flying from Toronto Canada
4 days at the parks - not visiting on the travel days or on Thursday June 1)
Plan is to do my first round of golf (only 9 holes) on June 1
Goal is to ride Tron at least once and try to do GOG again - but otherwise rides are not the priority

Day 5 - DHS con'd

I forgot to mention that we also paid for an ILL for RIse

Paying extra for one ride makes you feel ill

We did a photo shoot in TSL

T has no interested in spinning so we headed to the edge of the Galaxy

We searched for Mando but could not find him and Grogu so
We rode the Falcon

Great ride - I was the LH Pilot and T was a gunner - the other three were newbies and we had a lot of fun teaching them the ride.

Day 5 cont'd

After Falcon we seached but could not find Tricia's little friend (check out her hat!) so we headed out

We saw these two around 9:30am

And T surprised me and agreed to go on Star Tours - it normally bugs her but she was willing to try

Neither of us were the rebel spy - we saw Hoth and Coruscant - which i think were new for both of us - we do not ride this one much

Went looking for @riverside and her crew but they were not there - someday it will happen!

Our Genie + ride on Mickey was next up
Cute ride - wish it could have been an additon rather than a replacement

We got to hear the Witches cackle from Daisy - which is cool!

We then ordered from the ABC Commissary
Shrimp Tacos for me and Chicken Burger on GF bun for T and a non alcoholic lemonade (I know - what is up with that!!)
We shared the sides
Really good food!!

Love all the Oswald pictures around the park! I really wish they would do away with Genie+. (rant over). Your TOT pictures are great and it is good that you did that ride first thing as the line gets long quickly! Your lunch looks delish.

Great Movie Ride should have been refurbed - not replaced ...

I involved CM a lot more on previous trips - this one seemed like the right thing to do!

Yes on going to TOT first - we did it later in the day last October and only rode once - not enough times for T!

Day 5 cont'd - DHS
After lunch we did some shopping

This year is the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi

We did not buy any but did get Cassie and Shane a couple of May the Fourth be with you 2023 stuff to celebrate their wedding day.

Next up was our second (and only other Genie +) of the day on Tower

We then decided to get a couple of Lost Jewel drinks

and watch the Mickey Short ( and enjoy the AC)

Day 5 cont'd
Next up was our Rise ILL

I did not get arrested this time - but it was close!!!

Apparently we saw Kylo in B mode - Tu told me later when I explained the ride experience to her.

We were ready for a break so we decided to take a boat back and chill out - the skys looked good but a storm was coming..
At the dock we saw this little guy

We met up with Keith and Zelda and decided to go back to DHS together- he brought us up to the Club level at the Yacht Club

I got caught with my hand in the proverbial cookie jar

We walked out to the dock and tried to catch a boat only to find out they were shutdown due to lightening in the area
So T and I called for a Lyft and agreed to meet up with Keith later

Day 5 cont;d - DHS
The Lyft was great and we walked in under very ominous clouds

We had a Fantasmic dinner package at a new place for us - 50's Prime Time!!

Food was good and so was the entertainment!!
It was good when the servers actions were based on real things - I really did forget and had my elbows on the table one time and got corrected. But other guest were purposely doing things wrong and it seemed a little forced at that point.

It was raining outside so we hung out near on Sunset and waited to meet with Keith

We all decided to ride Star Tours together - but first we had to get a drink and then we walked over

It felt surreal - I was walking thorough a Disney park with @wdisney9000 enjoying a drink together !!

We made it ST and got to experience the ride with a service dog - going to down the secret hallway - Zelda hung out in her own room with a CM - we got scenes from the new movies which was different .

Day 5
A couple screen shots from Prime Time

After Star Tours Keith headed over to Rise - he was taking Zelda through it for the first time - so we decided to head out
We were supposed to go to Fantasmic to see the new scenes - but the skies did not look good - so we called it and headed back

We took an extended ride on the Skyliner back to Epcot IG and then walked back to the room and found this waiting for us

We met up with Keith and Zelda one last time in the Ale and Compass lounge
He was driving home the next day (Saturday)

Meeting and hanging out with him was one of the biggest highlights of the trip.
Both Tricia and I are really looking forward to doing it again with Keith some day soon - and hopefully meeting his wife C!!!

Being able to hang with Keith in a Disney park was great - I enjoy the meet ups a lot - meeting in the park and riding an attraction together was a bonus .

Prime Time was fun - and they made me a dairy free fried chicken dinner and it was really good.

Day 6 - Saturday June 3 - Epcot - last day in the parks

Cassie was able to get us Boarding Group 30 for GOG

Rode Test Track first and made the most interesting vehicle i have ever made - and we finished 2nd???

More photo shoots

Rode GOG - long wait because it was broken down - skipped both preshow rooms - felt bad for someone riding for the first time
We got Tears for Fears - that song is slower and really changes the vibe of the ride - T liked it - for me the jury is out

I had some sour candy in my mouth during the ride and that helped with woozyness.

Yes - the look on my face is weird - was trying to simultaneously not swallow the candy and not spit it out
Swallowing and spitting on GOG are not cool

So T and I have now gone on GOG 5 time and heard 4 different songs- we are now only missing September and I Ran .

We went up to the front entrance for the first time on this trip and loved the Encanto display

We headed right and walk past the Sea, Land and Imagination

But we had to get a pick of the Toy Story display

We went to try out some more food at the F&G festival

Honey Chicken waffle was great - the beef tips at Canada were good too

Day 6 cont'd - Epcot

Bambi and Thumper and Flower!!

We are home again!!

Went to back to the hotel after I ate the beef tips (sorry no picture) - T grabbed a sandwich at the YC market

We drove to Wilderness lodge and spent some time with Tu and Em poolside. (no pics)
This was the really slow service day that @Tuvalu mentioned in her report - 45 min for water!!
We said our goodbyes - and promised to see each other again sometime soon!!

Went back to YC and packed

It rained while we were packing and we were blessed with this

Headed back to Epcot for dinner

On behalf of all Canadian - we are sorry about the mess.

I was hungry so I went for both the Mahi and the Mahi

T enjoyed her Salmon

Food was really good - we will go back!
