But seriously…the disclosed number there is pretty telling.
You expect may to be lower than April…but a 22% drop in gross tax revenue is substantial

Taylor tried to get into the Kennedy family but after 2 years Conor opened his eyes and dumped her, one of the 37. When I rode Toy Story Mania in mid 2000s Taylor Swift and her girlfriends did ride TSMM with Disney cast at DHS when we were there. I don’t post much, but this is exactly how I feel. For more than a decade prior to the pandemic travel shutdown, my wife and I would visit Orlando at least once or twice a year from the UK. Longer trips would always include stays at both WDW and UOR; on shorter trips we might choose one over the other, but Disney was always part of the discussion. It was rare for us to go 12 months without staying on property. We’d stay anywhere from 5-10 nights in Deluxe Resorts, eating at overpriced table service restaurants and spending far too much on overpriced drinks. I would have thought that we were the sort of loyal repeat customers that Disney would want to retain.
However, outside of a couple of lunches at Disney Springs (my wife can’t skip The Boathouse) we haven’t set foot on WDW property since September 2019. We’ve visited Orlando twice post pandemic, with two weeks at UOR last year and ten days there earlier this year. We have two more visits planned for this year, with another nine nights in Sept/Oct and ten nights in early Dec. We’ll be returning to Universal for both trips. That’s 43 nights over two years and not a single dollar being spent at WDW outside of one lunch per trip.
My wife doesn’t follow Disney news as closely as I do, so whilst she was aware that prices had gone up, she didn’t know by how much - but she does know how much our stays at Universal cost. When we were planning our trips this year she asked me to price up a week at the Yacht or Beach Club so she could understand what I meant when I said prices had rocketed. When I told her the total she just laughed and said Universal it is.
We’re fortunate in that we could still afford to stay at WDW if we wanted to - but the value proposition is now totally broken. We would be paying much more than we have in the past, for a significantly lower quality product. I also really dislike being nickled and dimed - if I’m paying for a ‘premium’ product or experience I don’t expect to be treated like I’ve purchased a seat only fare on a budget airline. So, even if we haven’t technically been priced out, we just aren’t going to pay the asking price for the current product. One of those two variables needs to change to get us back.

Yesterday I checked to see how much a stay at Universal would be for Aug 23-27 at portofino since that would be comparable to my upcoming stay at the boardwalk. Hotel and tickets to the parks came out to $2800. My stay at the boardwalk is $2700, so I don't understand people saying wdw is so much more expensive .
