If I go to the shareholder meeting I'd like a complimentary pair of Air Jordans size 9 1/2.Shareholder meeting will be very interesting.
Considering Iger is pretty well-liked by investors I kinda find it difficult to see how Peltz succeeds here.

He has one job, replace Bob. I wonder if Susan off the board makes her a candidate?Someone please explain to me how the head of a huge company that is notorious for sweatshop products is qualified to run the Disney board?!?
…wait…scatch that
The whole thing in Hollywood for the last 15 years is dealing with the fall of easy tv money…that was the IP thingIger's mandate, per the release, is "to adapt the business model for the shifting media landscape, rebalancing investment with revenue opportunity… reposition Disney’s streaming platforms and broadcast and cable networks for enhanced profitability"
Not the statement you want to hear if you're someone who wants Disney to ditch the cable/broadcast business entirely (which is a dumb idea since the streaming platforms are unlikely to be profitable for years, if ever, but that might not matter if you just want a quick dollar and nothing more).
No worries they always have the theme parks to pay for all the other stuffIger's mandate, per the release, is "to adapt the business model for the shifting media landscape, rebalancing investment with revenue opportunity… reposition Disney’s streaming platforms and broadcast and cable networks for enhanced profitability"

An interesting character in the fold…Nelson Peltz wants Iger out. This is going to get interesting.
CNBC reports Iger and Susan Arnold personally met with Peltz yesterday to get him to back down. The meeting didn’t go well.
Susan Arnold called Peltz this morning and offered him an advisor to the board position. He declined and Arnold resigned a few hours later. Peltz is launching a proxy battle with Disney.
Basically Nelson Peltz is going to be making changes to Disney if he’s successful. It would begin with the ouster of Bob Iger for starters. So what does this all mean?
Ahhh…So what does this all mean?

Don’t sell it short…Basically Nelson Peltz is going to be making changes to Disney if he’s successful. It would begin with the ouster of Bob Iger for starters.
*Attempted* changes. He wouldn't instantly be the lone decision maker on the board if he succeeds in grabbing a seat.Basically Nelson Peltz is going to be making changes to Disney if he’s successful. It would begin with the ouster of Bob Iger for starters.
Peltz is a Wall Street powerhouse…can’t deny that.I guess my bigger question is, why would that prompt Susan to resign? Does this spell bad news? Will Peltz be successful?
Or will this turn into nothing?
Actually he would in practice…theoretically*Attempted* changes. He wouldn't instantly be the lone decision maker on the board if he succeeds in grabbing a seat.
Depends on whether or not the largest investors at Disney have total confidence in Iger.I guess my bigger question is, why would that prompt Susan to resign? Does this spell bad news? Will Peltz be successful?
Or will this turn into nothing?
I don't see how he could be successful. He would need other stock holders to jump on board with him and I am not sure he is going to get that. Well, at least not until Iger has a chance to layout his plan.I guess my bigger question is, why would that prompt Susan to resign? Does this spell bad news? Will Peltz be successful?
Or will this turn into nothing?
