'Strange World' Disney's 2022 Animated Film

It seems pretty elaborate to me, and it is getting a Thanksgiving weekend release which has historically (pre-COVID) been one of the busiest movie going weekends of the year. As I've said before, I seriously do not think they would be giving this such a prime release date if they thought they had a bomb on their hands. It doesn't make sense.

But....we don't know what we don't know. If it gets great reviews, I will be there. If it doesn't, I won't.
You give the talking Disney heads a lot of credit (cough, cough) using the word "thought". It's more like some folks in a back room throwing darts at a board and going with whatever prediction the darts tend to hit most.

Well, think about this for a second. They dumped Pinocchio, which turned out to be a huge disaster, right onto Disney+ and before it came out, a lot of people were confused as to why this wasn't going into theatres. Now we know. Now people are saying that they don't understand why Strange World, which they know nothing about, is not being dumped onto Disney+.

We will find out in a month.

Star wars made December a prime release date and Disney thought Mary Poppins was the better candidate. And we all know how that turned out for both movies. I wouldn't put a lot of stock into Disney having a clue about these kind of things.

It's because there is a gay character in it. There are a few posters on this site — who I will not name — who seem to always pre-emptively target projects that feature an LGBTQ character or people of color. Anything they view as "woke." They delight in the poor box office of Lightyear and Bros, whine about how the new Black Panther movie will suck without T'Challa (despite not actually liking the first Black Panther movie anyway), complain about getting a Black Little Mermaid, etc.

Now Strange World could very well end up being a bad movie. But the existing hatred for it comes from those who hate gay characters being featured in family movies.
Or it just looks bad.

So we can count that this is the year of "Disney MEH" with Lightyear tanking and Strange World giving off an Atlantis/Treasure Planet vibes..I'd can't even imagine how a M&G would work with any of those characters from this film let alone anything for the parks..

This response is better than most of things you say on here. Good job. Next time I’d go for less words.
I must admit, the idea of not wasting words on people who want to smear others because of a difference of opinion has merit.

BTW, the correct grammatical term is "fewer words". You're welcome.

For the record I would heartedly welcome a gay prince/princess movie, actually thought Lightyear was pretty good and totally agree that there are an unfortunate number of people looking to troll a movie for their agendas. Some most certainly preconditioned and chomping on this very thread.

I did see an extended amount of Strange World at D23 and it was kind of meh (for me). That said pulp magazine adventure isn't really my thing, but I do think this is going to be a rare, recent miss for WDAS. I'll see how the reviews pan out, certainly I'm not 'cheering' for it to be bad though.

They are really not marketing this movie out with the minor trailer here and there..I doubt will be seeing any merchandise or figures. Let alone anything in the parks as a M&G except for this 10min preview at DHS.

Well there is this figure set. It is pretty predictable since everything has one of these sets. The Avatar figures are better.

To be a troll?

To tick you off.

BTW, Cracked.com, a highly popular humor site, wrote an article the other day entitled, "Maybe It's Time To Just Stop With The Muppets". Written by a troll, no doubt: https://www.cracked.com/article_33406_maybe-its-time-to-just-stop-with-the-muppets.html

The most salient comment: The Muppets Mayhem, a Disney+ series that follows the Electric Mayhem Band’s attempt to record their first studio album, is the latest of several recent stabs at resurrecting a supposedly beloved franchise that no one wants to watch.
