It sucks but if you allow this, then they post the video on social media and 30 people are doing it tomorrow. 300 are doing it next week. You simply can’t let people get away with things in 2022.

youre right to point but as someone said we dont know all the facets of this story. the Brazen action though of the CM to come grab the Ring!!! i would have waited a second as the guy was already on his knee and then told them to leave the area, get a supervisor and tell them what happened, let mgmnt handle it from there. Sorry there was another way to handle this and in the future they should put a sign like they did on the mexico pavillion as people used to climb it and if you break the rule you get removed from the park.

The ring sneaking grab is the issue. If it was really for safety you would escort them down not run ahead and look the other way to Shame and wait at the bottom of the steps the way he did after snatching personal property. Even the snark line at the end.
This CM could not keep composure.

When it involves safety, you have to be upfront and sometimes forceful. I remember yelling at a guest once. Best to be that way and avoid a safety issue that could lead to something worse.

I think Disney was wrong to apologise to the couple. I feel it was either staged or they knew it was an area they weren’t allowed in and the CM was just doing their job

Disney can't put up a sign to prohibit every fool thing people can think of to do. There wouldn't be any space left for people to walk.

Perhaps he just didn't want to have a face to face argument which would take longer to remove the guest, and might result in a physical interaction? Taking the ring was incentive for the guests to follow quickly and quietly, and voice objections when out of the restricted area. And voice their case on the internet. I suspect they got more attention (which was the point of proposing so publically ) because of this than they would have otherwise.

You never take someone else's physical property hoping to de-escalate a situation. That often results in further confrontation and a bigger safety issue and more confrontation. I am not saying the intentions of the Cast Member were wrong, but how they did it could use a reflection or retraining.

It looks like he was given permission to propose to her, but in a certain spot. Based on the video, I bet they told him he couldn’t do it on that stage, but maybe in front of it, hence maybe why the CM directed them to go down those steps.

As a former DL CM who got asked for permission to propose in front of the castle and even on Peter Pan, I can say that this process is regulated. CMs will tell you where exactly you can do it and when to prevent any issues with other guests. It’s very possible that having the guests be on that stage was a safety hazard and the CM had to get them off of it as soon as possible for both their own safety and for their job security.

I don't understand the appeal of public proposals like that, period, but I am also the least Romantic person on the world.if this were an off limits stage or something, that's...that's a red flag to me honestly. A super public declaration like that in an off limits area just screams manipulation and issues with boundaries.

It’s way less cliche than the typical castle proposal. I think I only witnessed a Pan proposal once or twice, but saw countless castle ones.

I mean, SURE, I GUESS. I guess it's better than duringthe attraction itself.

I am glad that other guests seem to be okay with this, because I would be so cheesed if I just waited 65 minutes to get on an attraction I already had to dragged on kicking and screaming to be held up for one more minute lol lol lol lol

That's not just lacking brains, but also breaking Florida law. This is the era of the camera phone. If you spot someone doing this, record 'em and report 'em. (To the authorities, not CMs who may be ineffective).

I would agree if someone was trying to steal something from me, but the way the CM did this it was clear he wasn't trying to run off with the ring.

That's good they appologized.

I think regardless of protocol/policy the employee acted in bad faith. Even if pyro is stored under the stage it's not like pyro goes off without being triggered first.

If it was a huge safety concern he could've let them know without running and grabbing the ring how he did.

Sometimes you just need to apply common sense. This is terrible customer service any way I see it. I don't blame the guests at all
unless they snuck into an area they weren't supposed to be in.
