Why not have 1 massive NYE party where we all get Covid. That would be the best way to end this.
It is sad that the " Let it Rip " mindset is being thought of until a loved one is affected.

Thats how supply and demand works....if you dont attract employees you want at x rate you THINK they are worth dont be upset when your understaffed.
The differential between the unemployed and the employed is staggering. Millions of people legitimately decided they no longer want to work. Dont huff and puff when you cant find talent.
Couple that with the growing elderly cohert and diminishing working cohert thats not being replaced because having kids isn't a value proposition. Cant travel Europe at 25 with kids.

Lol I know right. I believe it's essentially Monoclonal Antibodies that attack a variety of different aspects(epitopes) of the virus that doesn't seem to change based on the different varients. As in they don't attack just the spike protein which is seeming to change a bit with the varients is my understanding. Could be wrong. There are smarter people on these boards that I'm sure can interpret this better.
You are aware ? that it is peak flu season and people on line may want to be sure if they have the flu or covid which symptoms are somewhat similar. Getting tested out of curiosity is reality also.

While it's true it is going through the population quickly and through many people, I don't think you can come to the conclusion that this will be the end of Covid. Til more of the world's population are vaccinated this will continue.
That and if it's like where I work, if you have symptoms they want you to get tested.

But that's the point.It’s not the media that does the studies on food nutrition.. or why a glass of wine a night is good now but horrible idea a year ago. Same with eggs, chocolate etc. They just report what the newest study shows. It’s confusing why the science on it changes so frequently but here’s the best article I’ve read on it when I was looking a few months ago. So many things play into the final results. Good read.

Two points we have never eliminated a zoonotic disease via vaccination and we have never eliminated a coronavirus(the 4 that circulate as part of the common cold, MERS, SARS.).Why not have 1 massive NYE party where we all get Covid. That would be the best way to end this.
Multiple studies from SA, NHS Scotland, REACT study, Hong Kong University - showing a milder form of illness along with a shorter hospitalisation, also individuals potentially being infectious period starting on day 1 and not a day 4 as previously stated . If the past nearly two years has taught us anything we are seeing two variants per year dominating the entire world.
So with all that in mind and restrictions in Germany, France, Ireland, Scotland and Wales having little to know effect and reducing numbers. What are the alternatives.

Ocean County's drive-thru testing site had to close less than an hour after opening because people were lined up well before the site opened. The statewide positivity rate was 28% on Friday. Between those factors and the increasing hospitalizations numbers you mentioned and the flu season another poster mentioned, I think it's safe to say that a good amount of the people getting tested and testing positive are doing so because they don't feel good (if not the large majority). And then there are the close contacts and people who tested positive on at-home tests who want to confirm their results.
