What side of the story justifies screaming at the school office employees and refusing to follow the mandatory rules requiring the kid to go home and not return to school until the quarantine period is over? There's no reason to act like that in a school building - and it shouldn't take the school's police officer threatening him with Child Services to get him to follow the rules. So many parents in this part of NJ were freaking out and demanding that schools return to full-time in-person learning and now there are people like this refusing to follow the rules that allow that to happen. If there are enough idiots like the guy in this story then there won't be an issue with picking kids up from school because they'll all be back to virtual learning again.

Dunno...I don't necessarily know what the circumstances were that led to him screaming, if that is what occurred. I could guess, but that is all it would be...because the article only states what the school has said. He could very well be how you're framing him, or not.

Gotta agree with this. Even if the nurse or administration egged him on a little I don't think that type of action is acceptable at all. This honestly is how victim blaming starts - when we make excuses immediately for the 'defendant'. People can be total jerks and that's not okay.

I've mentioned I've been working on a musical at my kid's middle school. School mandates that during school hours, we have to mask - everyone. For sports they do not. We've been waiting and waiting and waiting for their guidance on masks for the play. We go on in 1 week. We have NO guidance. We know the proverbial crap will hit the fan from both sides no matter what we are told to do. I've been given direction as one of the main parent volunteers (I over see everything with 3 others - yep big show) to direct any issues or real questions to the teacher and principal. One week - and I have no flipping idea how to deal with make up.

It's not just what the school said. The police department was quoted in the article and a contractor doing work in the building had to escort the father out of the building.

Also, the school district has been in session for about a month and has already had almost 2% of its students test positive plus 36 staff members. There should be no resistance to taking a kid home for exposure in those circumstances.

97% of people 65+ in FL have had at least one dose of a vaccine, which is why the elderly aren't dominating hospitalizations anymore.

What a lousy liar. Every parent knows you wait until buzzed in. Let's not forget active shooter situations. School entrances are locked down tighter than prisons. Using any 'foot in the door' means to gain access is highly inappropriate and even dangerous. It's a great way to get a police officer on duty at the school to draw a gun on you.

Also, lots of witnesses. If this guy thinks anyone is maligning him, he can take them to court. And we all know why he won't. He was in the wrong.

What’s most amazing is how people will still back adults when they act like children. There’s never a reason to scream at school officials. Your an adult, act like one. If you feel there is a reason you are being wronged, do what a responsible adult will do. Take action in other ways. In the last year and a half I have seen more people in real life and on these boards taking the side of a adult going crazy. It’s incredible.
