Zootopia characters confirmed

That's bittersweet. On one hand, the only Lion King land at Disney Parks would be going away, but on another hand we'd be getting the first Zootopia land.
It wasn't really much of a Lion King Land anyways considering it was more about conservation and animal care. It didn't even stick to just using Lion King characters to educate guests. You have Grandmother Willow's binaural sound show in there too.

Or Zootopia could be given a new land and demolishing Dinorama

I will personally punch anyone that complains about Primeval Whirl being removed for a Zootopia attraction.

I can't see them replacing conservation station. I mean, the animals need hospitals and stuff, right? What I think they should do is add Zootopia as an area, and have it be back by Rafiki's. However, it can:
1) Be accessed by a new attraction, the Zootopia monorail
2) Accessed by foot finally linking those two parts of the park... it's just a long walk. Which makes sense, considering both Rafiki's and Zootopia contrast a bit with Africa/Asia/etc., so having them be at a distance makes sense.

Here's my dream execution for this movie, which I loved. You build a new Zootopia land over the top of Rafiki's PlanetWatch, with a ride or two and some animal exhibits built to showcase the stars of the film.

Then, you build a Hogwarts-eque train experience to transport folks out there that mirrors that awesome train ride in the movie. While I was watching that, I kept thinking "this would be a great theme park ride!"

You'd need some sort of secondary access point, but I'm sure they could figure it out.

The site South of Conservation station is a pretty big site to make a city.....Don't you think??

A Zootopia Ride & Go Seek would be perfect for this...Similar to the Monsters Inc version in TDL..

Eh, if they wanted to add Zootopia to DAK, they should build it along the path between Africa and Pandora. There are some backstage buildings there that can be moved and it would provide for a good transition between the "real" animals/world in Africa and the "man made" ones of Pandora. I'd rather they leave the large undeveloped area between Asia and Africa/Rafiki's for a new continent (Australia or South America) which would keep in theme with that part of the park and allow for plenty of animal enclosures.

Animal Kingdom needs a true kiddy area. I could see Zootopia filling that void or a land that is IP driven using animal based stories like The Jungle Book, Bambi, etc.

So are they actually going to attempt to have Judy and Nick come off the floats and dance in the streets with guests during MiSiDaPi because I just imagine that being a mob scene of everyone trying to snap a selfie with them since there's no meet and greet...

It would be under the pretense of the entire land going away.
that. Only problem Dinoland has is how overbearingly obnoxious the so-called roadside attraction is. Put something new in Dino-Rama's place and its fixed. And the park needs its prehistoric representation, that's one of the three pillars the whole thing is built on alongside the living and the mythical.

Also, Animal Kingdom needs more capacity, not more full land replacements

Dinorama could work without Primeval Whirl. Make that a funhouse style dark ride and the land is fine.

I have something I want to talk about but don't think it requires a thread. I'm also afraid this will be met with ridicule, which I have already experienced when I first brought it up in the main Zootopia thread, and while I admit that some of the things I said are ridiculous and take them back, I still think I have a fair reason to be somewhat bothered.

First and foremost, I am obsessed with Splash Mountain and for years have wished the Br'ers were more popular. A few months ago, I expressed an honest fear that Zootopia would make Br'er Rabbit and Br'er Fox even more irrelevant than they already are because Disney decided to make the lead characters of this film a fox and a rabbit. And I stated an even more ridiculous fear that Disney might just be stupid enough to retheme Splash Mountain to it (which, if that were to actually happen, I would find it unforgivable on Disney's behalf). Of course, I find that just crazy now as the logical place for the film would obviously be somewhere in Animal Kingdom and that the film bears no resemblance outside of having the same lead animals (I don't know for sure, I haven't seen it yet). However, clearly I am not the only one who has been thinking about this. I've seen Tweets in the Splash Mountain tag talking about how "the characters in Zootopia look like Splash Mountain characters" or how "I think Zootopia was just made to get rid of the racial stigma behind Splash Mountain" (yes, that is an actual tweet I came across...). There's been more than that and trust me, you wouldn't believe some of the things I've read. I realize a lot of people on Twitter are idiots who don't even know what they are talking about, but they are still pretty interesting (and cringe-worthy) observations nonetheless. For instance, I just came across a recent tweet that said "I keep thinking WDW should revamp Splash Mountain to Zootopia rather than creepy Briar Rabbit..." That just made me plain angry. I'll just state for the record that when I first saw an image of Judy in a pink shirt, I thought "No Disney, you did NOT!" I really am happy this film is such a success for Disney and perhaps after I see the movie, I can put all of this nonsense behind me, but right now I have a small pit in my stomach almost every time I think about it and I just can't seem to completely get over it. However, what bugs me the most is that no one on these forums could seem to understand why I was bothered.

I agree with you. I love Splash Mountain and would never want to see a retheme of the ride. Now, I loved Zootopia, but it does not deserve to replash the story of Splash. It would be great to see a similar type attraction in DAK somewhere. I don't think there would be a problem with 3 water rides ( Kali, Avatar, & Zootopia), as MK has 4 boat rides.

You mean to tell me there wasn't another Disney Animated movie that had a Fox Character and a Rabbit? I'll just leave this here then...
