Trip Report You're going when, again?!?! A live trip report from the Devil's week.

At the shaming of @amjt660 and the guilt trip of my DW I've decided to create a dedicated thread for our next visit to the bubble.

The Devil’s Week:
We are 7 days out from our next round of funtivities during the “Devil’s Week”…Spring Break. The DD is heading on a band trip for the week to our nation’s capital so we thought it a good time for another couples trip. My new gig at the school system has me enjoying all the school holidays off as the kiddos do so what else should we do with a week off other than visit the bubble!
Who:
The Parents!

When:
April 1-5
Where:
We’re taking advantage of some deep discounts at the CBR during their war zon…I mean refurbishments. It will be our first time at CBR and we are more staying there to check it off the WDW resort list than we are for the discounts. We’d like to stay at all the resorts at one point. CBR will be our 12th different resort stay so we are getting close to our goal, it’s just so darn hard deviating from the Deluxes. I know, I know...woe is me, first world Disney problems and all.

Teen band drama now has the grandparents coming to stay with the DD before her trip while we are hopping on a JetBlue flight for the bubble. We’ll have at least half a day the first day to enjoy AK at night. As far as getting around, we debated on renting a car and did our best to figure out how much driving we would need to be doing during the trip first. We decided it would be cheaper for us to just get an Uber gift card and use that to get around during the week so that’s the plan. We purchased the Uber card today and loaded it into the app. We’ve locked in a few ADRs that include Boathouse, Artist’s Point, and Yachtsman. Boathouse is new for us and I’ve enjoyed a few vlogs and reviews I’ve see on it so we’re looking forward to that. No dining plans that first night, yet.

We picked up our Disney gift cards at Kroger today to cover the trip and food and now have an insane amount of fuel points! My magic band came last week and we're pretty much ready for the craziness! Nothing has been packed yet but, hey, we still gots a week!

When we kick this off next week I'll start live updates of the chaos.

And we just left DTD in our Uber but not before grabbing this fella that lasted all of a minute!

I often wonder when I encounter the younger humans " was I that ignorant ? " or " please tell me I wasn't that stupid "
Sadly i worry we might havebeen that dumb at some point.

How is the pool?
Any must-dos at CBR?

We’ve only done the Aruba pool and its pretty generic, no bar and no shade, but it does all we need it to do. The people watching is better at some of the other pools but we did just get the epic “puppet” quote...

As for the rest of CBR, we just haven’t explored. We wanted to give Spyglass a go but its on the other side of the earth. The only “food court” on this end is a standard guest room converted to a food shanty with a limited selection of goods. Still, our room is excellent, the buses have been prompt, and despite construction and a few baseball teams, here it has been VERY peaceful.

Ubered over to BLT to join the madness before a drink at GP and a dinner at a AP for 6:30. The crowd doesn’t seem bad ar first.

Its all good though. This was our only must do before dinner.

I'm a little late, but am all caught up now. Sounds like a great trip so far!!

I have a question regarding the Porterhouse for 2: Is it possible to get it cooked to two different temperatures? Since my DW and I are complete opposites in almost everything, we prefer our steaks cooked very differently. She likes it like charcoal and I'm more of a "still mooing" guy.

I bet they would try provided you want the filet one way and the strip another. Heck, if you’re cool with them cutting the steak off the bone ahead of time then they can for sure do it for you and they are that accommodating.

Enjoying the report! I'm still craving our meal at Yachtsman from December. It was soooo good. But so much food too! Luckily we only had to roll back to the Beach Club, I'm not sure we could of walked anywhere. I'm so jealous you're already back! Looking forward to the review of Artist Point also, it's on our list (I'm not sure what isn't on our list, but this is further up on it! :joyfull:)

I've been super behind on all TR's! Loving the adventure so far. We stayed in Aruba in Sept. of 2015 and I liked it (except the bridge was out and that made it a huge pain in the ***). Your Yachtsman dinner looks so amazing :hungry:!!! I wish I could fit this place in during our long weekend in July but we won't have time to
