I've heard rumors that MSEP will get extended because of "guest demand" until 2011 and Spectomagic will return in a majorly enhanced state just in time for the 40th.

Sounds about right, but I have heard that they want MSEP here for longer.

I'd rather get Spectro40th back.

I think that they should just keep it until 2011 and as you said, they should let us get Spectro40th just in time for the 40th. That'd be great. So I guess the 40th is happening! Another reliable person on this forum has stated that there is also a day-time parade along with a new castle show in the works for the 40th as well. So I guess we got the MK's entertainment down for the 40th.

I'm all for MSEP to stay a little longer if that means that Spectro gets a nice update. I never got to see the MSEP when it was at WDW so it'll be a cool experience (I did see it at DCA last summer for their Summer Nightastic, it was better than I expected). As long as Spectro is back in updated/refurbished form for the 40th, I'll be happy.

Precisely. I would love to see a newly refurbished Spectro.

I understand that many people love parades. I don't mind WDW having them for those who like them.

But I can't stand them.

My 7 YO would die if we sat and watched a parade, but he would be too late, I would have died first..

I hope this ends up being true and that they do not sell Spectro to Hong Kong Disneyland like what was also rumored :-(. It would be Sweet to have a SpectroMagic Dreamlights style :)

Personally, I am thrilled that MSEP is coming this summer. It's going to be a nice change up for us. We were going in December but the Summer Nightastic offerings were enough for us to make the trip earlier. MSEP alone would not have made us switch, but as a group of little changes, it's pretty sweet. :D

I hope that we get SpectroMagic back for the 40th, because our next trip is going to be for October of next year so that we can celebrate the big day with the Mouse! :sohappy:

I think there should be a poll option to keep the Main Street Electrical Parade for an extended period with a DreamLights-level upgrade. Here's my ideal scenario:

-Main Street Electrical Parade transferred here from California and performs as is for one or two years.
-SpectroMagic is shipped elsewhere for several years. It's a wonderful parade, I'd love to see it shared with the other Resort destinations for them to enjoy for a while. This would also help encourage moving around Fantillusion and DreamLights.
-After one or two years, our Main Street Electrical Parade receives a DreamLights-level upgrade, perhaps for the 40th Anniversary. -After several years, SpectroMagic returns to Walt Disney World, and receives a DreamLights-level upgrade, maybe for the 45th or 50th Anniversaries. If it were returned to us next year, it would probably only receive upgrades similar to what the Main Street Electrical Parade got last year at the very most, if anything at all.
-If they really wanted to impress, they would upgrade the Electrical Water Pageant, giving it three-dimensional floats, maybe restore the Baroque Hoedown to it, etc.

Certainly variations on this would be fine, too, like if SpectroMagic came back a couple years earlier and received the upgrade like MSEPs last year, and then got the DreamLights-level upgrade after a couple years. But I think the gist of this plan is the best.

Very happy to hear it is coming back.

I watched my 'Farewell Performance' video the other night...laughing everytime they announced 'this is the LAST showing EVER!'.....yeah..right....

You cannot keep a CLASSIC down. The music rules, the floats rock, and sure it may have a retro vibe to it that may turn off some people, but it is awesome to have it return.

Cannot WAIT to see it again.

Well, I've seen people on this forum post that they will be extending MSEP's stay until 2011 for "guest demand" and that SpectroMagic will return just in time for the 40th in an enhanced state... Supposedly they already have the press releases typed up in the computers for this.

I'd love to see the EWP tied into this, too. It's a great little detail.

I think MSEP should just be for this Summer, and other "special" events, too. Makes it more exclusive. Also makes Spectro more of the default and gives it time to get some work, as is going on now.

Why can't they feel that way about EPCOT classics?

This the best news I've heard since about 2000. (or was it 1999 when it returned last time?) (OK, that may be a SLIGHT exaggeration!) ((It may NOT be).

The Main Street Electrical Parade is my favorite Disney parade of all time, bar none.

I have begun planning this summer's trip. Word that the parade would be extended for a year would result in my again buying APs.

And yes, I do LOVE the music. In fact, if they changed the music, it wouldn't be MSEP! Not that I mind it being remastered or whatever, but if they change the melody, it's not MSEP.
