As a kid, I was always pretty weary of the characters so most of my experiences with them were less than magical and I tend to avoid them
But when I was a teenager we were the first of the day to ride Winnie the Pooh in the morning so Tigger rode with us! Very cool and very cute.

Well, most magical for me would've been Pluto and I aboard the Admiral Joe Fowler ferry en route back to the TTC from the Magic Kingdom YEARS ago (1997 perhaps?). Since it was around 3-4pm, there was no one else there waiting for the ferry. And being that I was a kid, we hugged and wound up play hide and seek around the lower deck until other people noticed the commotion and wanted their pictures taken with him. Pretty fun way to end a day there. :D

I have heard of this but doesn't a certan amount of talking have to take place? It is either that or they can be the only one that hides.

Can you request obscure characters for our wedding? Like Phil, Frollo, or even Clara Cluck?

That'd be hilarious if you could :D

Yes you can. There are many characters that are in special events that can be booked. These are characters you never see regularly in the parks.

I have so many, it is hard to pick just one! A particularly fond memory, though, is of our first trip with our son who was then almost two. We were leaving the park on our first night and saw a sign for Mickey just as we were exiting (near the Kodak store on Town Square). Toontown Fair was being re-vamped, so the characters were in little, out-of-the-way places like this. There was no line, so we thought it was closed, but my husband said we should check. We walked into a small theater and there was Mickey and two handlers just hanging out. My son spend at least 15 minutes on that stage playing with Mickey: hide and seek, peek-a-boo, dancing, hugging, etc. It was amazing. That night, when we returned to our room, he ran in side and said "I LOVE this Disney!" Needless to say, we were completely hooked!

A few years ago me and my family (DH, DDs-4 months and 3 at the time) were at Epcot on a very rainy day. The park was very quiet. I have a Disney Visa card and we went to the special Disney Visa cardholder meet and greet. There was no line and we walked right in. When I first turned the corner, I saw Goofy and Minnie. I was thrilled that we had two characters all to ourselves but then I see Mickey hiding behind the corner. I was THRILLED! They spent 5 minutes just entertaining my eldest daughter-taking pictures and giving autographs. Then we put my youngest, who was sleeping in her carrier, in front of the 3 of them to take a picture and next thing I know they put there finger up to their mouths and were telling us to be quiet. I have a great picture of my daughter :snore: with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy kneeling behind her all shussing us. Then it was my turn for some fun. The song "New York, New York" started to play overhead. They grabbed me and the four us started to do a kick line to it. It was an unforgettable character experience.

getting goofy with Goofy

On our second trip (just my DW no kids) We were waiting for Festival of the Lion King . My DW had to go to the ladies room, as she was returning Goofy came from backstage and grabbed her and began dancing. I was trying to get pictures, laugh and cry all at the same time. On our first trip Chip and Dale both proposed to my dd (13 ) at the time. She still remembers that and wants to spend her 16 th birthday in the world. :sohappy:

Fmingo36, you story reminds me of the first time I did the disney visa meet and greet. I was the first in line and as soon as I walked into the room Goofy grabed me and started dancing. We danced for a good 3-4 mins. I was crying and laughing at the same time. Thankfully the photopass guy was there snapping pics since I was unable to hand my camera to one of the handlers since Goofy grabbed me so fast. Come to find out the next day I met up with one of my friends who works at Disney, whom I hadn't seen in 3 years and he asked me how I liked dancing with Goofy the day before. When he asked me that I was surprised as I had not told anyone what had happened. I love Disney magic like that.

Probably all of the times I would go "character hunting" at DHS with my friends & the characters woulld recognize us. It was fun when one of the characters would sign "I know you" to us & we wouldnt have a clue as to who it was .

The very last character I met while there was the queen from Snow White. She looked at me, asked who I was with, when I said it was my mom, she said "Oh, I'm sorry. Why aren't you gone yet?"

But probably my favorite thing was when I went to Chef Mickey's for my mom's birthday, I noticed that Pluto's shoe cover was coming undone in the back. When he came to my table I told him I needed to tell him something & told hime that he needed to fix his shoe. The character attendant helped Pluto fix it & when Pluto came back out, he gave me an extra hug & signed "Thank you" several times to me using sign language.
