Your Favourite Rope Drop Park.

Depends on what you mean by Rope Drop. If it is getting there to get the most done before it is too crowded, then that would be on answer:

MK: Opening show is a must see for every trip. It is just so much fun to watch. You can also get a lot done before lunch.

DHS: Fun show. The advantage here is that you cannot miss it.

AK: I am not sure if they have a show. The crowds got 2 directions: Africa and Asia.

Epcot: I do not know of a show other than the characters came out on a bus at one time. The crowd runs to Soarin.
Africa has a really cute opening show

Rope Drop in Magic Kingdom is just special, and absolutely my favorite!

I have been to rope drop in Animal Kingdom and found it "adorable", but, I don't need to see it again. Hollywood Studios runs second place to Magic Kingdom, very enjoyable.

Epcot...Does it have rope drop?? I have been there for park opening but have NEVER experienced anything "rope dropish".....
Yes they have a show with the family of the day it's ok but ....

I have seen all. In regards to the "show", I rate it:
1. MK
2. DHS
3. AK
4. EP
In regards to fun touring after the show,
1. MK- there is something about a beautiful, sunny, morning in a near empty MK. My favorite daypart of any trip is this morning. So many attractions, so little wait.
2. AK- no other attraction experience on property is so positively impacted by the earliness of the day than the Safari. That coupled with short waits at EE early and a lack of other attractions having long waits make this rope drop really make enjoying this park a piece of cake. You can leave at lunch, or just hang out and soak in theme/details and see minor attractions. Ever rode EE at 8am? Talk about a kick start!

I am going back and forth on the other two. Both have a large herd, being lead to a single attraction, that will have long waits and few FP later in the day. (side thought: how will this look in the future FP+?) Both have other major attractions that are great, and you can get on each park's major rides by 10:30 with relative ease. It has always irked me that we have to go all the way through the Land to get a Soarin FP. Then all the way to the other side of the FW to get to TestTrack. Also, the herd is really tight. Soarin is also a ride I only need to do once, as I have been on it more than I would like to admit. Toy Story is outdoors and walk ways are wide enough. Toy Story is a ride I can ride multiple times as it is a game to me. (I will celebrate if I can ever break the 200,000 barrier. Someday ....) I think I am going to give the edge to DHS.

Our family has never done rope drop at any of the parks. We are planning to make it to all of them except maybe Epcot this winter. I will report upon returning.

MK you can get so much done by 11 am. Not for the faint of heart my boys commando stlye. 3 mountains and 3 othe rides at least. Second favorite for getting a lot done at rope drop Animal Kingdom if you ride KS first thing the animals are more active and from there just keep moving

I agree with this. On December 15th it was predicted to be a 9.4 crowd level day. We got there at 8am for rope drop, and by the time we left at 10:30am for our breakfast reservation at Kona Cafe, we had ridden Space Mtn 2x, AstroOrbiter 2x, Buzz Lightyear, Indy 500, Haunted Mansion, BTMRR, Splash Mtn, Pirates, and we'd had a special personal interaction with PUSH in Tomorrowland. As we boarded the monorail for the Poly, throngs of people were pouring into the MK like I'd never seen before. But we'd hit all our faves. When we came back to the MK after brunch and a tour of the holiday decorations at the monorail resorts, we were still also able to ride the Tea Cups, Carousel of Progress, Stitch, Tiki Room, Ariel's Journey Under the Sea, eat Dole WHip Floats, see Mickey's PhilHarmagic, ride the WDW RR, shop, eat dinner, check out the new Fantasyland Expansion area, and see the Main Street Electrical Parade. Not bad for a 9.4 crowd level day, but it was only possible because we were there at rope drop.

Magic Kingdom or Disneyland. I've done all the rope drops and only these are even worth it for me. Arriving 15-20 minutes later at the other parks and being able to just walk in is perhaps preferable to getting there early, standing in a line, being herded into the park, waiting, having to watch some mediocre "entertainment" before they let you in and then being in a mass exodus to Soarin'.

At Magic Kingdom, crowds disperse pretty well and you can attack areas of the park and experience many of the major attractions within 1-2 hours. There's the first train to Frontierland trick, do all E tickets, get Fantasyland out of the way before it's strollerland, knock out all of Adventureland, Frontierland and Liberty Square, or just ride Haunted Mansion 20 times in a row.

To me, that sounds a lot better than Soarin', Test Track, Tower of Terror or Expedition Everest at 9am, and especially better than waiting around an extra half hour when you can just arrive a half hour later and not have to do much waiting, if any.

Well, MK for the show. But when it come to getting a lot done quickly, and it being rides I enjoy the most, DHS. Catch DHS early enough and you can for sure do ToT, Aerosmith and ST two or three times before 11-12am. If you are really good you can ride TSMM and get a fp for later also. This doesn't always happen. You have to hit it just right.

Er... They cut rope drop ceremonies at all but the MK.

DAK used to be my favourite. Epcots wasn't bad either with the drivable Test Track car.

Then they got axed.

They all have something special. Epcot probably wins for me. The morning ambiance there is my favorite out of any of the parks. Second would be MK then DHS then AK.

We always do rope drop EVERY day of our visit, no matter the park. MK is a must see if you have never done that one. My personal favorite now is DHS where the streetmosphere characters are just funny!

In AK we were able to talk to Wes Palm before they allowed us to go through the turnstyles and the CMs brought out all manner of insects and 'critters'. The actual rope drop area is on the pathways to the left and right (Africa and Asia) and nothing much happens. You do have the opportunity to see some of the birds, lemurs, cranes, etc.

In EPCOT, once you move past the Leave a Legacy area to the rope drop area, I have never seen anything special except the Disney characters.
