I've resigned myself to NOT having another trip until 2014! NOT. Im telling you....lol

And then I spend more time on here then usual and here I am, pricing out trips for Sept of this year going "WE COULD TOTALLY DO THIS". waving away the little voice in my head reminding me of our plans to become 100% debt free this year (mostly paying off the car and my student loans, as we have no credit cards).

*sigh* Hopefully its better then ever in 2014!

How soon is your next trip??

Mine is 2014 too! But it was supposed to be 2013 before we went to Disneyland and WDW twice this year! Now no 2013 (maybe ;)) But hey, anything can happen!

Nothing until May 25 but then after that trip we have a cruise/WDW trip in mid September and another trip with my cousin for her first time in mid November. 3 trips in 6 months and then we're done with WDW for a little while. Going to DL Paris and DL in Cali in 2014!!

I was in the same boat around the same time last year with no plans to go, yet I was dying to get there, It was a rainy day around 38 degrees and MISERABLE. I was on my way to a job, when my boss called and told me that I would be needed to set up some of our clients spring training facilities in FL. My first few days would be spent in Lakeland which was only about 35 minutes from WDW. You bet your boots I spent every evening in downtown Disney along with an entire day park hopping. I put 8 miles on my new Pumas but I got to everywhere I wanted to. I have my phone near me at all times because I think I have another trip in the works this year.

We don't know!! Both DDs are in college, DW is a teacher, so it would have to be either Thanksgiving or Christmas. It was nice this year because we were able to spend an entire week, and return Christmas Eve (DDs hate to be away from home on Christmas day). It was so so much slower than we expected; it wasn't even really slammed Sunday the 23rd. If we go Christmas of 2013, it would have to include Christmas day (DW school break 2013 begins Monday 23rd), or the days between Christmas and New Years. Been there, done that, way too busy!!

Thanksgiving of 2010 was much busier than last week, but Thanksgiving may be our best/only option for '13. The issue would be DDs would be 2-3 weeks from finals...might need to study :(

We will not go in the summer....and we define summer as roughly April-October (wouldn't mind October, but conflicts with school).

I imagine it will be Thanksgiving 2013...if we wait til 2014 the DDs might not want to go as a family :(

337 days!! :D It will be our first trip during Christmas time! Some of the threads here are making me nervous about the lack of decorations but I'm keeping my hopes up!
Lack of decorations? DDs are going to begin to post food pics this Saturday. Comment and remind us to post decoration pics!! The World was decked out!! Castle lights, Osborne, entrances to all parks, resorts, etc.....

I will tell you there was not much Christmas apparel available the week before Christmas, and we were told it was put out initially the end of October/early November and not much of it was left. The only things we noticed on sale were Christmas consumables (cookie mixes, candy canes, etc..). We did receive a 20% coupon for purchases at specified shops (one at each park + DTD) to be used before 1:00 any day before Jan 3rd. The coupon was on any receipt for food purchases, even if the purchase was a bottle of Coke.

Sorry you have to wait so long!

We were just at WDW this past July, but now have a combined DCL/WDW trip booked for this coming June.
Now comes the fun part...comin' up with all the jack to actually make it happen...!
If we can ;), it'll be the first time we've taken trips in consecutive years. :)

As Dad to M & M mentioned, there were plenty of Christmas decorations. The Christmas Store at DTD had plenty of holiday stuff of course. We were there the 13th-20th and had a difficult time finding items. We also got the 20% off coupons and used them. One thing to note, and this was a huge disappointment for me, that if you go December 2013, you will not find much in the way of 2013 branded items. It will likely be all 2014. I had to search hard for anything branded with 2012.

Even more disappointing for me was logging into PhotoPass today to see that none of the park borders had 2012 on them, they are all 2013, i.e. Animal Kingdom 2013. I think I saw two maybe three 2012 borders. Sad for me because this was a special trip for us and wanted to be able to use the borders. Having said that, PhotoPass was pretty much a bust other than I was able to get pictures of my son and I instead of just one or the other. At $150 that's very sad.

I can't be going crazy. I swear I have read on more than one post of people complaining about the lack of Christmas decorations at the parks mainly Epcot.

Since you were just there I'll take your word on it and wait for you to post some pics.

It depends on how you define "next trip".:)
  • Spending Memorial Day weekend at Disney's Hilton Head Resort. Does that count?
  • Spending 5 nights in July at the Animal Kingdom Lodge but no days at a WDW theme park. Does that count?
  • Spending 3 nights on the Disney Dream at the start of Thanksgiving week. Does that count?
  • Spending Thanksgiving weekend at the Boardwalk Inn. Hitting the parks 2 days. That's gotta count.:)
