Greetings, dreamers of all ages!
This is long and detailed. Get a snack.

On with the show:
Flight/Shuttle:
Flew AA from OKC at 12:30 PM. This flight time was changed by American, and we were originally arriving earlier. Changed planes at DFW with no issue. Flight was good and attendants were very friendly.
6:30 PM: Arrived MCO, picked up one checked bag, and went to Mears shuttle. Shuttle experience was similar to Magical Express sans Disney movie/music.
Drop off was fine, dragging luggage was mildly annoying. If we had arrived earlier with a park day planned, it would have been VERY annoying. Check-in with Savannah was great. This was our first stay at Ft Wilderness. We picked up our Instacart order from Publix and bell services took us by van to our Cabin.
Resort: Cabins at Ft Wilderness.
I requested Loop 2200, Cabin 2215 and received Cabin 2218 — nice!
Super clean and cute. Newly renovated. Sleeps 6 but I would say 4 is comfortable. Godson slept on fold-out bed in living room that they said was very comfortable.
Eddie and I had a full size bed (comfortable) and Jonah slept on the top bunk of the 2 bunks next to our bed. Yeah, it was our 30th anniversary, but we were married for 16 years before the kiddo was born. We’ve had years to be romantic in fancier places and when we had better joints.
Highly recommend the cabins. So quiet! We typically stay at French Quarter (and once at the Poly), and this was even quieter.
Nice big bathroom, closet and drawer space, and a vanity mirror in the bedroom.
Full kitchen with stove, microwave, full size fridge, dishwasher. 2 full size TVs.
I wish we had booked a resort-only day to take advantage of the Fort’s horseback riding, fishing, archery, boating, and crafts, etc, but my husband and I both work in education and time off during the spring is sparse.
Best thing about Cabins/Ft: beautifully landscaped Wilderness and beach, Boat to MK, and golf cart rental.
Worse thing about Cabins/Ft: Neither the Hoop de Doo dinner theater nor the Chip and Dale campfire singalong had returned in time for our trip. The pools are minimally themed. Like not all themed, LOL. There is a small water slide at the larger pool.
Transportation:
Loved being able to rent a golf cart because the resort is massive.
Boat to MK was quick and very comfortable.
Busses to other parks seemed less annoying than those for FQ. Both less crowded and fewer stops.
