I wouldn't be surprised if they just kept it going until their Marketing Department can sell in a new idea.

After all, that's all those constant celebrations seem to do - give that lazy marketing team something to talk about.

I was going to say the same thing DISNEYDATA already said - how about some time to enjoy the parks without being reminded of some silly ad campaign every 5 minutes.

After all, what tiny percentage of people do they really think only goes to WDW because of one of their "celebrations"??? You're either are going to go or you're not!

HAPPY TWO YEARS OF TWO MILLION DREAMS!!!

I understand the DVD, but it's the actual customized letter that comes with the DVD that states it.
They haven't officially changed the celebration yet. It will get done this year. They just haven't announced a change yet...so, of course, they're still going to call it what it was. (And I'm sure that some of the aspects of the Year of a Million Dreams will continue thoroughout the next few years.) They don't want to talk about a new celebration when Disney isn't ready to talk about it yet.

I expect the new celebration to get announced within the next few months. And a new video to be ready by sometime around Oct or Nov. Of course, all this is just a hunch...but it's a good one.

January isn't very far away to start planning. The planning books suggest your plans 6 months out. Which is weird, because you could only start making Jan reservations about 2 months ago. Until then, it hadn't opened up.

Especially since the marathon closed to reservations in February.

and the packages for 2009 won't come out til August. I've always thought Disney delayed too long to release packages...if you plan a January trip, the price isn't guaranteed until 5 months before your trip!

I was hoping for a "Year of a Million Nightmares" to counterbalance YOMD.

Let me guess they will have Nightmare squad castmembers who will remove days from your park tickets, charge you for fast pases, charge 400 dolars per person to saty in a room at pop centery that new cutians have been put in. All of these and many pay prizes will be awarded trought out the Disney parks. The nightnmare squad will be able to except all major creit card as well as debit, resort ids and cash. Disney can not be held resposible for what may hapen to you once the contarct you must sign before your "prize" envalope is open. This offer is void where prohobited by law and all taxes must be paid in cash.

Exactly. 09 rates come out around the end of summer, but your 180 days out to make ADRs is July 5th (for January 1st) :lookaroun:shrug:

It's the silliest thing. We're planning on going for the 2nd. I really hope the 2 years of a million dreams will be over by then.

Exactly. The celebrations are cool like for a anniversary or something but every year is getting a bit redundant.Sure, they can have a theme for the year but this is getting a bit silly.

People will go to Disney because it's Disney, not because of the 100 Happiest Millennium Dreams of Magic Celebration going on.

And plus, all of the " temporary additions" that these celebrations bring usually are not temporary and most fans hate them.*coughWandHatCakecough*

What I heard was YOAMD was going to end in December 2008. Will the Cinderella Suite sweepstakes still be going if YOAMD is finished (since it was mainly there for YOAMD)?

Michael Jackson bought the suite and takes up permanent residency at the Magic Kingdom starting January 2009.

Of course, he's had many people stay in his room before, so anything's possible!

Oh..this is gonna be fun!

Hey, some guests DO plan that far ahead! January 09 isn't all that far off! And I've got a trip booked for OCTOBER 09!!! That's what happens when you're a Brit, you see. You book it a looooong time in advance cos it's such a long way to go and costs so much!!!

Our next trip is January 2009 & we have been planning it since March of 2008...it's never too early to get all hyped up about your next trip to the World! :sohappy:
