Although he was inspected recently (Torso pelt removed, ewwwww) Yeti has not been repaired yet.. I can tell you that Joe was recently here for a planning meeting regarding Avatar, and he'll be relocating here during the construction of the area..

Specificially he mentioned that he is working with the powers-that-be on a permanently fix... Stressing that he is very disappointed that such a fantastic element has been eMOTIONless for quite some time..

There is hope mouseketeers ;)

Avatar is still on? Ugh

Perhaps I'm naive, or foolish, or simply unwilling to admit something is a lost cause, but I keeping believing (hoping?) that things will get better. The Yeti will be repaired, DHS will get the cohesion it needs, EPCOT will become the revolutionary park it was and should be, and I won't have anything to complain about. I'm wired (thank God) that I tend to squeeze every drop of hope out of a situation, and I keep hoping that the wrongs will be righted and all will be ok. I guess if I didn't, then what would be the point? Yeti has been broke for FAR to long and it's time to make it right. It will one day, that I believe. Or hope.

Hi all,

I was the one who tweeted yesterday about the Yeti. In the tweet I said I, "think" the Yeti was working. (?) I was not trying to start a rumor, mess with fans, or " drive traffic to (my) lifestyle blog" (really?)

As I said in following comments and tweets yesterday, "someone else should go check", "pretty sure fur was moving. It definitely looked a lot different from the 1000 other times I've been on it", "moving or not, it looked amazing!" and, "but I dont trust my own eyes"

We were riding in the front row so we didnt have as much time to see the Yeti as others might have. Could this have just been my mind playing tricks o me? Maybe, but I "think" I saw something yesterday that I have not seen in my many, many previous visits to EE.

I understand some peoples mistrust of unverified twitter reports, but why jump to thoughts that someone is doing it with malice? If I really wanted to "drive traffic" I would have reported, "HOLY MOSES! Just got off EE and the Yeti is in FULL MOTION!!!!!"

Again I was not, "screwing with fans" or anything like that. I was riding it with someone else. We have both been on the ride hundreds of times. When we got to the unload station, we both looked at each other curiously. The person I was with was about as unsure as I was, but we both thought we saw it move.
Thanks for clearing that up! It wasn't really your tweet as much as several others retweeting it as "ITS MOVING!" and then websites latching on to the "news".... its crazy how powerful Twitter is!

Can you describe what looked different to you? Was the yeti fully lit with show lighting? Or was the scene still dark and only lit by the strobe light?

The Yeti was not in "show lighting" mode. I have seen it fully lit a few times and it was not fully lit yesterday. What I "think" I saw was the arm of the Yeti moving. Again, being in the front row it was hard to tell.

If you rode Pirates and Jack Sparrow wasn't working (as reported a few weeks ago) would that ruin that ride as well?

Stealing a question for someone else, but that depends. The last one, yes. Any combination of two, certainly. If the first or second one goes down alone, I'll cut them a break, but you can bet that it better be fixed within days, not weeks, not months, and absolutely not years. (I quite honestly don't like that the ride became "WHAR IS JACK SPARROW?!" but the ride builds up to him to the point that it's pathetic if the AAs aren't all working.)
Side note: if the auctioneer goes down, the ride is supposed to shut down. One AA out of dozens shuts off a ride -- a standard pushed by the Walt Disney era. $15 million dollars worth of one AA out of one should too shut down a ride, but it hasn't in something like 5 years.

(eta: I meant to quote the poor Wakefield guy. Didn't work.)

It's cool. Most of us didn't run over to the AK, anyway. :) Despite the occasional rumor to the contrary, the thing hasn't worked in YEARS.
