And they both serve as the climax to the main part of a STORY!

Can we all stop the arguing about the Yeti?

It's very plain and simple, if you ever experienced A-Mode then you understand and have every right to complain. If you haven't experienced it, which I assume most haven't, then stop defending TDO for a broken AA that is essential to the story of a E-Ticket attraction!

Sorry I'm just getting tired of people defending TDO for such a catastrophic failure.
quoted for truth. period.

Is this a dial on the control panel - or something people made up in response to the broke- yeti? It sounds totally like the latter. Since I would imagine that there was no "B mode" when it was built.
From my understanding there was a B mode in the design, but it was never meant to be the default mode. It was just there to keep the attraction open until 3rd shift could fix whatever went wrong.

It would be the latter. :) Not sure why people pretend it is just one of two versions instead of "before it was broken" and "after it broke," lol.

It's not like Dragon Challenge or TGMR or anything.

I have seen the Yeti both working and not working. When I last rode in late January I could have sworn s/he moved. I didn't say anything at the time because I knew I must be mistaken or it was wishful thinking from my eyeballs. I think as maligned as they are, the strobe lights do give the illusion of motion. I can't fault anyone who thought they saw Yeti move.

EE is ALL about the Yeti. And that he's been broken for YEARS is lame.

And don't even get me started on the ToL... The park's ICON. Disney's solution? Don't fix it, install semi-permanent nets instead! What if SSE were missing pieces? Or a spire fell off Cindy's castle?

I never rode it when it was in A mode. I agree with the fact that even in its current mode it is still a really good ride. That said I have heard from accounts from people I know and people on here and other sites how great it was when A mode was up. Its an amazing looking AA and the whole experience leads us to that climax and I want to see it fixed and back to its full form. However, even if Disney were to consider to fix it, there are other factors in the way that don't even really involve the cost of fixing it. Regardless if the issue is mechanical with the yeti or structural with the complex or a mixture of both; it would take some time to fix and it would have to be closed down some to do it. Either way whether its with the building or with the AA, they would have to take it down. If its just the yeti itself, they would probably need to close it at least one day to take down and then close for a few days to put back up and testing. They would be able to open it in between the two closures, it is a good ride so even though not having the yeti there does screw with the story the ride can still run. It would be more of an issue, if its over the building taken to much wear and tear. They would have to take down, do the structural work and then put back up and test. So, either way it would take a closure and AK does not have enough attractions for crowd control reason to close it to do the permanent fix. This is only the case I would believe if they would consider fixing it. There is the other camp that feels TDO is just to damn cheap to fix, but no point getting into that one.....

Hey, it's just my opinion. Who cares what I think, right? :D
Honestly I respect the opinion that he's pointless, but I can't stand the people that say it's no big deal that he's broken because you only see him for 2 seconds anyway. If you don't think the Yeti, even a static or moving yeti, is vital to the story that's fine, but To rationalize that a static Yeti is fine because you only see him for a second is IMO ludacris
