Pre-Trip Yes, Virginia, There is a going to be another Prophet TR...

Well we’ve just passed the 30 day threshold so I might as well put this out there. We’re at it again! You were with us in 2015 and again in 2016 so why not come along for 2017! This year we leave the in-laws at home but the kid is bringing a friend! So here are the details:


Who: DW(@imahistorygeek), DD(TheKid), and ME(@lostpro9het) We will also bring a friend of TheKid’s who I will call “The Fourth Wheel”

When: Dec17-Dec22

Where: Animal Kingdom Lodge, Jambo 1-bdrm value villa


We will be changing things up a little this year and will by trying out a food delivery service and attempt to cook in the room for a few dinners! We did line up a few ADRs but I’ll get into that a little later. I’m still on the fence about a live or a post TR, probably post so I can enjoy the time. Anyway, that’s it for now I’ll post more fun facts soon!

We took a mid-day break at AKL for zebra domes and drinks on Wednesday and I was thinking of you guys ge entire time. I wasn’t sure if you were already in town and I kept looking for you. Haha

Enjoy! I HIGHLY suggest visiting the new Sumatran tiger cubs on the Maharajah Jungle Trek during your stay...we saw them on Friday (only their 2nd day out with Mama) and they were SO entertaining and adorable!!

......only we won’t be! Due to the situation at Hartsfield our flight got cancelled and we are rebooked for early morning. Didn’t learn any of this until we arrived at MCO. Have a couple Golden Monkeys for us.

Have a happy vacation!! Enjoy the view from your balcony--the animals are fun to watch--especially in early morning when they're having "breakfast". (I stayed at AKL some years ago, and I loved watching the CMs putting out extra branches and leaves for the giraffes in particular--the giraffes would sometimes "help themselves" to branches off the back of the pickup truck, before the CMs could place them out in the savannah!)

We just came from HS and to be honest, its kinda lite compared to years past. Of course MK is having a Christmas party tonight so that may be playing a roll.
