Worst Ride Location

I agree that Dinosaur is in a horrible position for attracting guests. It's so far back nestled in an extreme corner.

During the past two Christmas/New Years weeks and even the Easter before, and 4th of July for that matter, have all been HIGHLY crowded times with peak attendance. However, Dinosaur never had more than a 10 mins wait and the FPs are not even always available! Which was good for us that know it is there, and it is a great ride, and deserves way better!! I think the new Everest bridge will help, makin the area more flowing.

And I feel Philharmagic is in a good location, jsut has a very poorly designed queue that should be able to hold more people.

And on a side note, I think Haunted Mansion has one fo the best locations, all by itself in a corner annex that is only accessible via one pathway. Very good planning there. And then of course the ominous looming Tower of Terror has great location.

I also think it's a little difficult to find the It's Tough to be a Bug entrance. I know it's in the Tree of Life, but it seems like everytime I'm in AK they've moved the entrance for the attraction.

Haha. I will agree to that that each vacation down to WDW, the entrance to this ride is somewhere else!!

personally i think they could have done better not with the placement of kilamanjaro, but with what surrounds it.

every time we try and get there first thing in the morning we have to fight through hordes of people because everything is on the way to it and everyones going down that one path over the bridge. i wish it were like dinosaur and more secluded, making it not so much of a hassle to get to.

oh, and belle is the hottest princess. what do you think?

In response to the last question, Meg is the hottest. As for the actual topic of the thread i always thought it was rather difficult to get to Tough to be a bug. Dont get me wrong the tree of life is one heck of a cool thing but if your a repeat visitor getting around the queue is one heck of a bother. A close second though would have to be Coaster and Tower, you gotta spread out the thrill rides Disney spread em out.

Epcot is my fav

2 things

1- I think that Test Track and Mission:Space are horribly placed. It brings way too much attention to that side of the park. If they were on opposite ends people would realize that The Land Pavillion still exists.:hammer:

2- Winnie the Pooh ride......well not in a bad location..well kinda....just bad altogther........LONG LIVE MR.TOAD!!!!!!!!!

Ummm, I hate to break it to you, but you have to go up if you're gonna come down!

Next time, try the ski lift. It's usually a bit of a wait but it's better than walking up all those stairs, and you get a great view of Summit Plummit on the way up.

Some attractions are in the wrong theme. Tomorrowland Speedway. Aladdin's Carpets. RNRC

Some attractions make an area too congested. MS and TT. Splash and Thunder. TOT and RNRC.

However, the award for the worst placed atttraction in the world goes to....Rafiki's Wild Planet. The fact that you are required to take a boring train ride to get there is absurd. It's only marginally worth the train ride.

I think the area of Fantasyland housing Winnie, Peter Pan, Mickey's Phillarmagic, and Small World is too narrow. That whole area winds up as crowded as any freeway during rush hour.

As for RnR, I understand why it's next door to ToT, but I still think that it's in too close a proximity to ToT, and it winds up s__________g way too many of the guests to that location of the park.

Ummmm.....why is that word blocked out?? I mean it's the word suck and the suffix ing. I wasn't using it in a vulgar context I don't think.

My list:

Magic Kingdom: Splash next to Thunder, Peter Pan across from Small World, Philharmagic's queue situation

Epcot: Mission Space next to Test Track, Wonders of Life being hidden pretty well

MGM: Tower next to RNRC, Muppets near nothing now that Hunchback, Trams closed

AK: True about Tough to Be a Bug and it's entrance, Tarzan Rocks part of Dinoland

Dinosaur with a 10 minute queue? I WISH!! Last time I visited it was 60min plus!! I agree AK can be a bit confusing to navigate, but like all the other parks its simple to get help - use a map!

RnR was built nest to ToT I believe for its power supply, as stated in an earlier reply. To the west of ToT is a power substaion built especially for Sunuset Blvd. RnR shares this since (apprently) if RnR launched at the same time as 2 V V C`s were in the drop shafts of ToT there was a risk that the combined juice pull could crash the local MGM grid.

Splash and BTM are side by side (like ToT/RnR) to try to spread out the load for each E Ride - they were built to compliment eachother. Admittedly people go from one to the other, but also from here over to SM and back. Oh - and they also needed water to splash into. And SMs drop always faces the castle.

This idea of grouping rides to accomodate large number of guests isn`t new - in its day the Matterhorn and Subs at DL were opened together for that reason. And more recently, believe it or not, CoP was planned as a relief ride for SM back in the early 70s! Also think of DLPs Studios (I try not too that much...LOL) - the Signature `E Rides` there are side by side (RnR, Moteurs..Action!! and Armageddon... and the Tram Tour is basically on the other side of the park (admittedly thats only 5min away but hey..)

I have solved the MGM - no space left problem

Demolish the current backward a__ parking lot and have the people park in the always half empty EPCOT parking lot and tram or monorail them over.

Then use the current parking lot to expand the park.

The worst placed attraction is any attraction that replaces one that already exists. With over 30000 acres, you would think they could find room for new attractions without destroying the old.

I'lla gree that Aladdin's Carpets are in a "worst location" to. Adventureland had a certain theme that does no longer carry completely through because of this ride. It's too cartoonish and bright, def. not mixing in with the true spirit of Adventureland. It sticks out like a swore thumb, lol.

Alladin's Carpets...no doubt.
Not only is it in the way, it has contributed to my favorite land, Adventureland, now having no recognizable, consistant theme.
Standing in one spot you can see Africa, Polynesia, Arabia and the Caribbean.:brick:
One thing Disneyland has over MK...a well themed Adventureland.

Mission: SPACE

I have to go with RnRC and ToT. These two create such traffic jams in peak season... it's rediculous. I'm all for creating some access point by the Animation Studio leading to that area. Not only would that help alleviate the crowds walking out of Sunset, but also allow for easier access to the back of the park.

I am totallytotally with you on that one!! You are so right.

And I agree about AK too. There can be relatively few people in that park and you feel like you're falling all over everyone. Between all the trees and plants and stuff (I know, I know, theming) and the narrow pathways, it gets really chlaustrophobic. Give me Epcot's wide boulevards any day of the week!!

I think that just the look of Ice Station Cool throws people off. I seriously have never been in it before because I thought it was just a place to buy soda or slushies. Now I can't wait to go in it. What other rides do you think look different then what they actually are or are in a really bad location?

I'm known to some of my friends as Compass Boy because I have to know exactly which way I am facing and where I am at all times. However, AK still confuses me. The first year it was open, I got familiar with the map months before I went but I still couldnt find many things. I missed several things that I wanted to see because I couldn't find the entrances. I believe the over growth of the trees add to this problem. They look great and all but you can't see from one area to the next like you can in the other parks (example: seeing the Showcase from Future World or seeing the Space mountain from the Castle).

Anywhere where there is a dead end in the parks to me is a bad place to have an attraction. It gets too crowded and people get confused. One example is Splash Mountain/Big Thunder area. If you don't know where you are going, you could just keep walking back there until you end up in the store and exit area for Splash. I wish they could open the area a little more or plan a path to go around the river or something. Another area like this is the Universe of Energy building. It's in a dead end area as well unless you are planning to go into the Inoventions building. Camp Minnie Mickey is the same way. You get all the way back there then have to turn around and come back the same way just to get out.

Any dead end places like that just seems a little crazy to me.

Wow you are so right. I've been to WDW like 13-14 times since AK opened and AK itself like 3-4 times. I probably won't frequent it as much until EE opens but anyway that's beside the point  I also dislike the fact that there is no other way out of Camp Minnie Mickey except the way you came in. And the times we've been that area to go in and out has always been crowded so navigating yourself through there is no pleasant task.
