I can relate we just got back from Disney I worried about the same things. When we went in 2003 my youngest son caught a little cold . I paid an arm and a leg for some kids Tylenol @ Epcot. This year I made sure I had little travel sizes of some items , Pepto , Tylenol. Sunscreen , shampoo, stuff to put on sunburn just in case .
The other thing that really helped us(really not related but sort of ?) is I purchased little boxes of cereal before we left , packed them in our suitcase ,and we had breakfast in our room--we stayed at Port Orleans- Riverside. We just had the expense of buying milk .

I always get so anxious before we go to WDW--although I'm worse when we're flying than when we're driving. I worry about tantrums, and kids getting sick, and kids fighting in public, and maybe I'm forgetting something really important and maybe we won't be able to find anything to eat...

Almost all of my worries have no basis in fact. But I worry anyway.

My wife is the same way. We gave up flying about 6 or 7 years ago the stress of: will the luggage get lost, will they steal are stuff from the bags, will we be late and not get a car, did we pack enough for the 2 weeks, is the pilot drunk. And after all that I was terrified to fly. Now we gave it up to take the Auto Train. The only stress SHE has now is will they forget to put the car on the train. So in the end she still makes me CRAZY, but a lot less to go wrong.

There is a line from a song called "Class of 1999" that I like to remind myself of when I start worrying about things I can't control. "Worrying is as effective as trying to solve an Algebra equation by chewing bubblegum" Bottom line don't stress it. Have the family take Airborne or the generic equivalent for a few days before you leave to build up your immune system, make a check list so you don't forget to pack something and enjoy your time with the mouse.

Wow. I can't tell you guys how relieved I am to read your posts. I thought I was the only one that worried about all these things before a Disney vacation.

When I went in July I almost cancelled the trip because I was so worried about everything before hand. You know - will I loose my luggage, will there be a hurricane, will we get there and not have a room, will we get the king bed non-smoking room we requested, will the plane crash, will Mickey notice me....

I was a crazy woman - but you know what the minute I got there it all went away. I worried for nothing. No matter what happens before you get there or on your way there - once you are there it all seems to disappear.

Anyway....perhaps instead of being worried about things that are not of your control, people should focus on actually trying to have a nice, relaxing, fun vacation.

I worry more when we fly to WDW. We had a bad experience with a well know bus company from the airport to WDW and on the return trip to the airport. It has now stressed me so much that it will happen again that we just drive instead of flying. I usually start packing two weeks before we go because I am worried I will forget something. I do not know why because we can buy it when we get there if it is that important. My husband drove to WDW with flipflops on last year and forgot his "real" shoes (we did our final packing with no electricity during Hurricane Ivan). I did not let it bother me, we just stopped at Belk's on Hwy 27 outside of WDW and bought some more when we arrived. I am just not going to worry anymore. I cannot wait to have fun and relax there. :sohappy:

I never worry before going to WDW.. I get excited :D

Actually.. I lied, kind of... I worry if we don't take our dog, cat, or rabbit how they're doing... That's all

I also worry about crazy things before we go to WDW like the luggage getting lost , over sleeping (like in the home alone movies), getting sick etc.

Hubby and I are going in Oct. without the kids and I am practically having nightmares about plane crashes(although the 2 that just happened haven't helped). I honestly never really worried about it, even after 9/11 and the fact that we fly out of Newark and JFK. I just felt that we are all on the flight(us,the kids and my mom) so if it was our time to go it was our time. But, now I am terrified! Am I crazy?

My worries include -
Will the taxi turn up at the right time,
Will there be delays in getting to the airport
Will my luggage fly to the same airport as me, and
Will I get through American immigration

:animwink: well, my wife I think that we will have beat any posts on here. We are surprising our sons with a 5 day visit to WDW, we can't pack anything around them, so we have to wait till after they go to bed the night before and do a mass pack, we'll more than likley get no sleep for at least 20 hours, we may be dead by the time we get to sleep on tuedasy night but, god to pull one like this over them is still going to be pretty hard, by the way we leave at 7:20 in the morning and so we have to get them up at 4:30, this tuesday the 23rd, I hope I can get the looks on their faces on video when they realize what's going on. And I know my older son, (11), will say you mean we're not going to Great Adventure? I still want to ride Kingda Ka, I'll tell him if you want to get that scared ride TOT 5 or 6 times. wish us luck, we're going to need it.:sohappy: :sohappy:
Our other son is 9....... ACCCKK!!!!! this is going to be a trick.

i have a horrible problem with heights, so you don't even want to know what goes through my mind the days before a flight anywhere. so basicly i worry about any and everything that can go wrong on a flight.

Our family worries plenty before a trip. We worry about forgetting something and being 1,000 some miles away, you have to remember everything. We also have 2 dogs, a cat, 3 birds, and 3 aquariums, so the pets are a big concern. Of course, planning a trip can be exciting but stressful as you have to coordinate everything around everyone's schedules. Once you get there, everything is fine though.

personally, falling out of an airplane, would be fun till you hit the ground.

i have no worrys about flying, its the safest mode of transportation, and it would be really quick if something did go wrong.
