Me, my mom, and my friend are supposed to be going to Disney World in late June. We are staying in the Pop Century Resort ( my second home! ) so we are gonna have the park hoppers, fastpass, etc. I was just wondering because I have never been during June ( only Aprils and Julys ). I have been to Disney World 10 times and never had any MAJOR crowd problems, but seeing all these pictures with these HUUGGE crowds I am getting worried, especially with the 50th celebration. I was there last April and July and April was very quiet and July it was deserted so I was thinking all the crowds came in June......So lets cut to the question:

Will Disney World be MAJORLY or MODERALTY crowded in late or mid-June?

In my experience, early-to-mid June has fairly light crowds... but later in the month you get about the same as July or August. But it shouldn't be as bad as what you've seen going on this past week.

Don't let crowds worry you... just have fun! :)

May is actually a very good month. Average temperatures, lighter crowds... and this year, the 50th Anniversary celebration kicks off!

I Agree with all of the other posters the only times I have seen closures due to capacity was July 4th, Easter and Christmas. I think you should be fine. Definitely make any PS that you think you want, though to avoid disappointment in not getting to eat somewhere you wanted to. Belle

Planet Hollywood? ...

Try some other places on this trip. You don't know what you're missing.

Beat ya to it Belle!!!!
That you did!!! I am pretty amazed that with all the great restaurants ( Some of whch are attractions in and of themselves) you would limit yourself to Planet Hollywood and Pop Century!!! For starters the one place I would recommend for dinner is the 50's Prime Time Cafe. Your Mom will get a HUGE kick out of the place, the food is excellent ( very down home stuff dont look for haute cusine here, you wont find it) the prices are reasonable and the service is wonderful and entertaining!!!! Mind your manners here and no elbows on the table and you will have a great time!!! Belle

This time I really would like to visit the Crystal Palace and I also heard Ohana is really nice. Plant Hollywood isnt the ONLY place, just usually. I love Rose & Crown and all the other divine food in World Showcase. Can anyone tell me the top 5 places to go for lunch or dinner in the parks?

The top five that I like, but only five is kind of limiting for me.

1. Cinderalla's Royal Table or Plaza Pavillion - MK
2. Brown Derby or 50's Prime Time - MGM
3. Le Cellier or Chef de France - Epcot
4. Chef Mickey's - Contemporary Hotel
5. Grand Floridian Cafe - Grand Floridian Hotel

I must say that one of my FAVORITE things to do at Disney is to eat! There are just so many amazing restaurants to choose from, but here are my top picks:

Lunch:

1. Le Chefs du France -- Epcot
2. Prime Time Cafe -- MGM
3. Tusker House -- Animal Kingdom
4. Earl of Sandwich -- Downtown Disney
5. Wolfgang Puck -- Downtown Disney (also has really yummy breakfasts!)

Dinner

1. Le Cellier -- Epcot
2. Teppanyaki -- Epcot
3. Restaurant Akershus -- Epcot
4. California Grill -- Contemporary Resort

I hope that you have a wonderful time!!!!

I absolutely loved the 50's Prime Time Cafe, but if anyone in you group gets grumpy when they're tired from sprinting around all day, be a little careful...hehe just kidding, but yeah, a couple people in my family got a little annoyed from being heckled, but they didn't do anything of course, because that was their job. I thought it was a riot, and had the best time, even though I got scolded for getting up without permission. :D

I've been to Planet Hollywood (there was an enourmous line, but we got to cut in front because my sis was working for Disney :animwink: ), and I loved it because I'm a huge movie freak, and the food was so yummy. Service was incredibly fast too.

But yeah, anyway, Brown Derby is also recomended, as is any EPCOT restaurant. I happen to also love Liberty Tavern in MK...so delicious, not to mention the characters come to you. If you ever head to CityWalk, Margaritaville is great too. I've been to Ohana's, and it's really cool, but a LOT of meat---I was stuffed early on. I could go on and on, but I think it's fun to experiment...look up ones that sound good, and try one.
