World Showcase - Am I the only one?

Keep moving forward is so often the motto, and all of us here appear to love World Showcase, yet we also have suggestions for something extra. Personally, I'd love to see Greece, with a columned parthenon and fabulous Greek cuisine. Business requires the buzz of something new to keep the customers coming. Sad, perhaps, but proven true time and again. Yes, keep it as is, but add MY idea without taking away from the place or upsetting the ambience. We're all sorta hypocrits, I guess.

I LOVE the countries as well, it is not at the top of my list for changes, it is beautiful, fun, relaxing, interesting as is.. I would rather they update Future World.. but that's another story:)

There is room for at least 7 more nations by design. Why would you be against that...it would only enhance it without detracting anything. Imagine Greece: The Parthenon, Egypt: The Pyramids, Russia: Red Square, Ireland: the Irish Spring factory, India: a ride about Temple of Doom. The possibilities are endless.

I agree with the OP; WS is in good shape. And it should be low on their list of priorities to fix up or improve -- maybe even last.

But...there really should be a ride or attraction in every WS pavilion. That would be more WDW-ish and so much more fun. There are already lots of threads here on what, where & how.

Not in every pavilion, but a couple new meandering boat rides through the country's landscape to just capture the essence of the land, customs, history, and people would be awesome. Nothing E ticket--World Showcase as a whole is an E ticket.

I like World Showcase, but I feel each country needs a ride or something better than a movie.

Doesn't have to be e-ticket, but do something to engage us a little more and people will spend an entire day in just the showcase.

I think world showcase is great the way it is, the "open spaces" that exist today allow for some breathing room from the crowds on busy days/nights.

I just think some of the countries need something to draw you in to spend more time in their area, other than the shops which are mostly filled with junk.

Just my opinion, but I think the sit down restaurant in the back of Morocco is one of the best restaurants in world showcase, I guess its just a matter of opinion.

First, World Showcase is one of my favorite things in all of WDW but I wouldn't mind seeing one country simply because of it's beauty and that is Switzerland - and what would Switzerland be without (I know I'll get a lot of flack for this)...a 'version' of the Matterhorn. You'd get a beautiful mountain and semi-thrill ride all in one.

Don't be too harsh on me.....there are 3 different 'versions' of the Haunted Mansion and Space Mountain so it's not like duplicating a ride has never been done by Disney.

Just something I'd love to see!

(BTW for those that don't know this was actually in one of the original EPCOT plans!)

I am a huge fan of WS. It could stay the way it is forever, and I would be happy so long as FW got updated frequently. In my opinion WS is timeless.

I love the World Showcase just as it is. That being said, I wouldn't complain if they added another country, but don't think it's necessary by any means. I have a hard enough time narrowing down which countries to eat at with the current selections!

Last night on 30 Rock they had a great comment. When the canadian asked what was wrong with being canadian the female lead answered:

"Your epcot pavilian doesn't even have a ride"

I love world showcase, but adding a country and maybe another ride or two would be great.

Hey, don't sell yourself so short. Work hard. Maybe a little more schooling. Save, invest, make some amazing decisions, and there you are.

Maybe you won't see all the World Showcase countries, but I was a dirt poor farmer's son living on student loans and generic mac & cheese when I got crazy and went to Europe. I worked hard, lived like a Church mouse, grabbed hold of some debt that eventually got paid off, and went. It was the best decision I could make at the time. On that trip, I went to England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, and Belgium. If you keep saying you won't see the world, you never will. If you say, "I will go to all the countries in the World Showcase" maybe you will! Maybe you'll only get to half of them. And maybe you won't see any of them. But you definitely will NOT go anywhere if you convince yourself that you never will.

By the way, World Showcase is literally my favorite place in the world, but there's truly no substitute for seeing the real places. Go for it!
