working out for Disney

Do they have a service where someone will help him transfer? Like they do for people in wheelchairs, etc, but someone just to guide and tell him where he needs to be?
I am not sure. I think if he had to go through London, I would book him on a connecting flight with a longer layover. This way, there is no rushing, so that means less stress. I would make sure he had access to wifi so he can contact one of us for help, if needed.

I've been getting my exercise in. I walked to the Centrum on Sunday because I needed to get a couple of things, so I got over 10,000 steps in. I didn't get much done Monday because my husband got a bee in his bonnet. We are making our home more energy efficient, and they were supposed to do the floor insolation today, but it fell through because they got under the house and realized there are some pipes in the way and they can't get to a certain spot, so they have to come back another day because it's going to take longer than they thought. Anyway, so since they were coming in to do the floors, my husband isn't happy with our wifi and he wants to lay some cable, but needs to get under the floor to do it. He asked me to clean out our closet so he could drill a hole through its floor to run the cable into our room. It's a closet we only use for storage, not for clothes, so it was packed full of stuff collecting dust. It took me a couple of hours to get it cleaned out. I guess that's exercise, but not really intense. Tuesday I walked to the centrum again because I needed to take back a dress I got for E, and she asked me to get her a USB stick for a school project. So I got more than 10000 steps again. Then because the drill wouldn't go through the floor on Monday, he asked the floor guys to do it today, so I had to schlep all that stuff out of the closet again, but they didn't bring a drill with them, so then I had to put it all back. But I discovered a need for some storage containers, so I guess I'll go back into the centrum again today. And I work tomorrow and Friday, so then I ride my bike for half and hour each way on those days....so I'm getting the exercise in. I'm hoping I can lose a couple of pounds and build up my stamina for Disney this summer.

It sounds like you're getting a lot of exercise, so I wouldn't be surprised if you lose a few pounds. Although that cleaning stuff out of the closet, putting it back in and then taking it out sounds a bit frustrating.

Good morning-

I did a hamstring and glute workout. It was pretty good.

I have tried to return my poorly fitting dresses. I took photos of them on hangers. I was offered a gift card of $9.66 and was told to keep the dresses, or I could return them, but I would have to pay for shipping. I don't see why I should have to eat any of this. I took my measurements and they told me which size I should order. I ordered that size, I am going to push back on this, because this is not my problem. I really don't like these dresses anyway. They are both backless, but they are not double lined in the front, nor do they have at least a shelf bra. The material is very thin. Boo. 👎

Oh wow, I love the pictures of all the water features and such! Where is that?

It's at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville. It's one of six Gaylord hotels in the US. The others are in Orlando, DC area, Denver area, Dallas area, and San Diego. One day, I'd like to stay at one and book a balcony room looking into one of the atriums. We just went for a basic room when we stayed at the Nashville location in 2020. Lots of people just park as day guests to see the atriums, experience the restaurants, etc. I think they all offer some kind of boat ride through the atriums and offer some kind of water park (separate fee).

Some places have started being really difficult with returns. I can understand if it's someone abusing the system and using them like a home dressing room, but in this case, you followed all of the fitting instructions/directions and got a product that failed you. I would agree about fighting back.

I allowed myself one more break day yesterday since I was still feeling the exhaustion from the weekend. We also had a lot going on after work that occupied my time. After dodging nasty storms, Sam had her 8th grade awards ceremony. Then it was back home for a postponed weekly FaceTime with my parents. As tired as I've been, I've been trying to get back on track with better eating. We never eat well while we're traveling, so Monday night, I made a lightly crusted quiche with lots of fresh mushrooms, fresh spinach, green onions, some dill from the garden, a little bit of cheddar, and some diced ham. Last night, I made stuffed bell peppers- stuffed with brown rice, ground lean chicken, fresh parsley, green onions, a little bit of bacon, feta and fresh parmesan. Is it ultra diet food...no, but it's better than dining out or eating the heavily processed stuff my husband likes to buy from Costco.

I haven't decided if I'm working out during lunch or after work, but it will happen today.

It IS frustrating. But, on the other hand, I got rid of some stuff. There were some old pillows to throw away, and some old sweaters my husband never wears, a bunch of old shoes we never wear....so I got rid of quite a bit, and I went into town today to get some storage bins, to put single piece jewelry boxes into, and one for loose papers. So it's streamlined. Since I cleaned all the hangers and dusted everything in there, and put things into containers, it's much easier to do now. It needed to be done anyway, so now it is.

Ugh! Wasn't one of the selling points that it was supposed to be EASY to return?? What's with the hoops?

I'd definitely call all of that a workout, but the closet stuff would have frustrated the heck out of me. Storage containers are great for some people. I have a friend that loves them. She has everything organized and sorted and is good at keeping it that way. Me? It may stay like that for a week or two, but eventually things just get shoved wherever they fit.

We never use this closet. I haven't even been able to GET to it for like a year or two. It was stuffed full, and I had two of those plastic drawer thingies on wheels in front of it. So I couldn't get to the closet without moving everything in front of it. Now I've got it empty enough that the 2 drawer thingies can go INSIDE the closet, so I can get to it, but I don't actually use it for anything but storage. I have my formal dresses in there, but that's about it now.

Part of the problem is we had this bookshelf above our dressers on the one wall, but the bookshelf fell and all the books came tumbling down. My husband is not a DYI guy and he never fixed the bookshelf, so the books are still stacked up in front of the dressers. I also have too many clothes, and not everything fits into the armoire and dressers. But now I'll be able to hang a few more things in the closet, too, and I asked my husband to hang the bookshelf back up, so once I get the books put away, and we get the clothes put away, I'll be able to access the dressers again, too, and I can clean out anything I don't wear anymore. It will be much nicer.

I think your meals sound delicious and perfectly fine. You're eating lots of veggies and getting a lot of lean protein. They honestly look like recipes you'd find in Cooking Light.

That's such a good feeling when you've gotten rid of old stuff and everything feels a bit unburdened. I honestly need to do this to my whole house. It feels so overwhelming when I think about it and I never know where to begin. I think I just need to pick a day to start and break it down into rooms and realize it's going to take a few days.

Good morning. ☀️

Checking in with a 50 min YouTube video. Today is my "active rest day." I found a video that was pretty low key and did that.

So, I pushed back on the returns with my dresses. I told them I took measurements and that I ordered the size indicated when I input my measurements. I also told them I was uninterested in re-ordering the proper sizes, since I would incur a greater cost. I very politely asked them to cover the return shipping. They emailed me today and told me they were going to refund me the cost of the 2 dresses and that I could keep them. If they said no, I was going to send the dresses back and do a charge back for the shipping. They don't do exchanges, you have to return and then reorder. My husband suggested I order the dresses in the next size up, but honestly I have no desire to do any further business with this company. I am getting the feeling this is just a drop ship company that gets its inventory from Ali Baba at a large mark up.

I think that's my problem....I get so overwhelmed and I do the same thing....I have no idea where to start. But now I've got the closet done, and I have a plan for the living room. We need more storage space, and once we get the renovations done, I want to get some IKEA storage things....a book case and another storage case that can go horizonally over the 2 cabinets where we have the TV, a new end table with drawers, etc. Once we have more storage, I can get things cleaned up there. I just need to do one thing at a time.

Well it sucks that you have to jump through the hoops, but at least it's settled now. Can you sell the dresses somewhere else to make a bit back? Otherwise what do you do with 2 dresses that don't fit?

I've never tried to sell online, so I don't know. I honestly wouldn't pay more than $15 for either of these dresses. Stylistically, they are cute and probably comfortable to wear in warmer weather, but they are thin and unlined. They are also backless, so you can't wear a bra, but they are thin. So I guess your options are to wear those adhesive "paper bras" or buy one of those silicone, backless bras.

Happy Memorial Day weekend! 🇺🇸

I did a full body strength training workout this AM. It was good and it made me sweat. The last two and a half minutes were tortuous, but I pushed through.

The cat is kind of angry with me, not like hissing or hitting, but she doesn't come up to the door to be petted and scratched. I put the flea and tick treatment between her shoulders while she was eating the other day and she felt it. She ran away a few feet and then came back, but was eating with her head facing the patio door, so she could see if I was going to take any other nefarious actions towards her. She's scared of me now. At least she won't be itching and biting herself trying to get relief. I wasn't able to rub it in, so I hope it makes its way down to her skin.

My husband bought her an outdoor bed from Amazon this AM. 🤣 It's just a little mesh cot, but it's waterproof and we're going to keep it in the shade for her. It will keep her off of the ground and let air circulate underneath her.❤️

Happy Saturday. 😎

I did a cardio dumbbell workout. No big plans for today. Just tidying up the yard. We're doing the Memorial Day grilling tomorrow, so I am starting the brioche burger buns tonight. My son asked for banana pudding, but the only bananas I could get were still slightly green. I am hoping they ripen a little bit more over night. I have another dessert options, but banana pudding is the easiest one to make. I'm trying to keep it low key.

Doesn't putting bananas in the fridge ripen them faster?
