I know your hip bothers you, but can you do things like squats? You can buy long resistance bands and use them for strength training. They are *much* cheaper than weights, they are easier to store and you can use them anywhere. At home, on a work break, on holiday, etc.
No squats or lunges for me. I have issues standing back up from a squat position. It's like my hip locks. Like, you know how you have a nut and bolt, and if the nut doesn't go on straight, it gets stuck and won't turn anymore? That's what it feels like in my hip....like the ball is crooked in the socket and it just won't go into the right position to be able to straighten up. So I have to sort of slide my right leg in toward the left to get it in alignment, and then I can stand. I'm thinking I'll have to join a gym when we get back and use the bikes and such.

Can you see a physical therapist for that? That sounds painful. If it is a ball and socket issue and they are not aligned, you might be grinding away connective tissue and eventually it will be bone on bone. Ouch.

Hello-

I did a full body circuit training workout this morning. I was really pleasant today, less humid than yesterday, so I went out for a walk, too. Much less humid than yesterday. I don't mind heat, the only thing I dislike about walking around outside in hot and humid weather is a sweat-soaked sports bra. It feels so gross and wet. :grumpy:

Just another quiet day here (thankfully). :)

My doctor insists it's bursitis. He won't do any further testing. Usually I'm fine. If I sit for a long time, it's hard to get up, and if I walk a lot, it will flare up, but other than that, it's ok. I don't feel actual grinding, it just feels like my hip is locked into the position it's in.

It's supposed to be really warm here today. I really dislike the heat. It makes me feel nauseated, gives me a headache...no matter how much water I drink, it just makes me feel miserable. Work is going to be awful because we have no AC. But I think my boss is going to put me on Manual packing again because of my heel, so at least I won't have to walk a lot. Hopefully. It's not a training night, so I shouldn't have to train anyone new. Last night, I trained a new guy for the first hour, and then went to Manual, so it wasn't too bad. The downside of manual is not getting many steps in.

I hope eventually you can switch doctors, he sounds very invalidating. Losing weight is something that takes a while, you shouldn't have to endure pain because he thinks you need to lose weight. I know we should expect some aches and pains as we get older, but feeling like your ball joint isn't in your socket seems like an issue that goes beyond that.

I wouldn't even worry about steps right now, since you need to heal. Hopefully, your position will help a bit with that.

Does that crazy guy who thought Texas men who wore cow boy boots take turns kicking each other in the junk (or something wacky like that ) still work there? It was something like that wasn't it?

Hello-

I did another total body workout today. I am trying to get into this 6 week challenge, but I am not. It's not bad, I just prefer doing other things. Part of me wants to go back to what I was doing and another part wants to just hang tight and see it to completion. I went out for a walk, too.

I got approved for my jury deferral today. So I am hoping (against hope) I can find decent airfare to London. I haven't looked. I'll let my husband sort that out, since he is the one who needs to go. We are going to take the train up north and surprise my MIL before we leave and then she's coming here a few weeks later! LOL

Good morning! I haven't made workout shorts in forever and what I've got has seen better days so I got up did my practice then cut out and put together a couple of pairs in a nice heavier weight french terry

Nice! I ordered some cute ones from Amazon a couple of weeks ago. I thought they were kind of funny.

OK, I am trying to link, but it's not happening. They are blue shorts with pink donuts.

Oooooooo those are cute! I had plain navy fabric in my stash that's the right weight and breathable so that's how I rolled. I thought about using a black summer weight ponte with white polka dots but decided to save it for a dress at some point down the line

Hello-

I did a full body tabata work out this morning, followed by a 15 min full body stretch.

My husband's lease starts tomorrow, so he and my son are moving his stuff up there. I do not envy them. It's going to be in the 90s. It can't be fun moving a couch, bed, etc in that heat. My son is one of those people who wilts in the heat. I kind of want to go in his place, but he is taller and stronger than I am, my husband thinks he will be more useful than me. Luckily, there is an elevator.

I think you made the right choice. The black summer weight pointe with white polka dots sounds like the perfect material for a cute dress.

I completely forgot about him. I haven't seen him there in ages, but that doesn't mean he doesn't work there anymore. He might just work the nights I don't work, or he may only work days now. I know that there were numerous complaints about him. No one wanted to work with him. Our shift supervisor had to rotate people around so no one was with him too long because he drove everyone up a wall.

Oh that's so great!! Good luck with the flights. It's pretty expensive right now, and airports all seem to be having problems. I hope it all works out!

Good news! The Yellowstone North loop is already reopening on Saturday, AND they are ditching the Alternating license plate system, so we can get into the park whenever we want to, AND we can still see Mammoth! So I changed my reservations all back to what they were when the flooding first happened. I don't think you can get to Gardiner, so I left that one out and stuck with 2 nights in West Yellowstone, but it's sooooo much closer than Dubois, and we had really wanted to eat at this 50s diner in West Yellowstone and were disappointed that we wouldn't be able to, unless we did lunch. Now it won't matter when we go.

My brother picked up his daughter from girl scout camp in Montana this morning and he said when they were driving up there last night, the sign said you could get to Gardiner, but not south of there, but the north loop was opening on Saturday. I thought he must be mistaken because they kept saying the North loop would be closed the whole season, but I looked it up and sure enough, it's opening already. AND, I found my ring I got for our first anniversary that I've been looking for for like a year. I had taken it off to get in the shower because it's pearl and pearls are very sensitive. When I came back, it was gone. I looked all over on top of my night stand, in all the drawers, around the nightstand, under the bed...couldn't find it. But I was looking for some documents I'll need for our trip, I picked up a stack of papers, and there was my ring. So excited.
