working out for Disney

This week has actually been a LOT better. It's still hot at work, but the outside temps have been in the 60s this week. Last week was miserable, then this week has been nice. I even had to wear sweatshirts, which was sooooo nice. I love sweatshirt weather!! Today is the warmest day of the week and we're barely supposed to break 70. Most people are upset about that, but I'm loving it!

I wonder if you were dehydrated? It was really hot here last week with heat advisories and I was doing yard walk and walking. I thought I was drinking loads of water, but I guess it wasn't enough. I woke up one morning with banging headache and feeling run down. I started to feel better once I had a liter of water in me. It is so easy to become dehydrated.

We're driving to SC. My dad has been saying for weeks that he was going to bring a dead cicada to my aunt to show her so she can show her grandson. Mom and I vetoed that.

Somehow, there is a dead cicada in here (no, Dad didn't put it in here)

About 15 years ago, we had the cicadas come out where I was living at the time. I went shopping and I went to pay for my purchase, a dead cicada was in my purse! I don't even know how it couldn't have gotten in. But they get everywhere whenever they emerge.

My son was 6 at the time and he kept picking them up and bringing them to me. I had to ask him to stop. Their red eyes freak me out.

I don't find them too bad, just gross when they die. I remember them 17 years ago when I was in elementary school. Now bees I'm terrified of.

Here's one that was alive when I took a picture.

Hello-

I did an hour of yoga this morning. Knock on wood, my left leg has been feeling better since I have started doing yoga again. It's not 100% better, but I'd say it was 95%. I am going for a walk later.

I finally got my claws and talons done today. I even talked my husband into getting a pedicure with me! Whoa. By the time the poor nail tech was done with his feet, I had a pedicure, gel manicure and my brows waxed. :hilarious:

I am worried about my son traveling next week, he won't get vaccinated. Currently, I am not *too* worried, because he rarely goes anywhere and when he does, he wears a mask, uses hand gel, washes hands once he gets home. Plus, we live in a state with a high vaccination rate. However, we are traveling to Chicago on Thursday and I am concerned about him picking up while traveling. I'm worried about this Delta variant and we're going to be at O'Hare where a lot of people from different places transit through. He is one of these people who needs to eat something as soon as he gets past security, so he is going to have pull his mask down. He is 19, I can't forbid him from eating, you know?

I have been seeing photos of them with that white fungus that grows on their butts and "eats" them. When they fly, they "sprinkle" the fungus from their butts. Mercy me, I wish I could delete that from my memory.

That's the worst part about them. I swear I'm allergic to that. My asthma was horrible when they peaked, so horrible that I had to stop working out. I'm not normally bad this time of year, so my suspicion was that it was the cicadas. Which would make sense because you aren't supposed to eat them if you're allergic to shrimp, which I am.

But they only come around every 17 years, so no big deal. And they're not in South Carolina.

I blame you @Me 'Earties for me not placing a Basin order this year;)
I just share the love! By the way-I think we can make the sake soak as well. I have a feeling it’s about half sake, and the other half is a mix of the ingredients listed. So for example, the lemonade sake soak listed the following ingredients:

Sake, Cottonseed Oil, Witch Hazel, Hemp Oil, Fragrance, Raspberry Seed Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Yellow 5.

Considering the order listed (always from most to least, percentage wise) and the amount fragrance that’s typically used for bath products
(5-10% for body washes), this may be something along the lines of 10/10/10% cottonseed oil/witch hazel/hemp oil; and maybe 5% each of fragrance, raspberry, macadamia, jojoba oils (colorant is minimal). At least that’s where I’d start to try and attempt to make this.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get some castille soap and raw honey to make a liquid body wash. I just got a new deodorant from Native that goes nicely with my bath salts

Hi! I had the hardest time getting motivated to do anything last week. I was just so exhausted that most of my downtime was spent napping. I did get back into it over the weekend. Saturday, I spent close to 2 hours washing and cleaning my vehicle. I really felt it in my arms, back and hamstrings on Sunday. I was up early on Sunday to get my younger one from a friend's house. I had the brilliant idea to go out for a walk. .25 miles in, I started having foot pain. .50 miles in, I could feel chaffing starting. Around the 2 mile mark, I developed a blister on my heel...even though I was wearing shoes and socks that still had lots of life left in them and have been used for longer distances in the past. At that point, I decided to just limp home. The chaffing and the blister were both bad enough to cause a bit of blood loss. After some rest, I got on the bike for 30 minutes and put in 9.25 miles.

Seeing the previous Amazon posts...they are making me lose my mind a bit right now. That big cargo box I bought didn't fit my vehicle, so they had a shipping company pick it up from me over 1.5 weeks ago. It still hasn't made it back to Amazon and Amazon says they won't start the refund process until they get it back. The shipping company said Amazon can clearly see the shipping status and that I no longer have it, but Amazon is being a pain. And it's not a small amount of $ I'm trying to get refunded.

Seeing all of the pedicure talk has me thinking about getting one before heading to FL. While most of it will be softball, we will have beach and pool time, as well as a catamaran excursion out to some island where they have a water playground, snorkeling, etc. I usually just do my own toes because I get uncomfortable with people touching me at times, and three of the four times I've had a pro do it for me...there have been issues. We'll see.

That Amazon situation sounds frustrating. They are such a mixed bag for me. When I have to return something, I just go to Kohl's as is and they take care of it for me. Once it's in their system, I get a refund--usually before I've gotten to my car. But these are small things, not like what you have. But, I no longer order non-perishable/shelf stable food from them, because it is non-refundable. If it is moldy--too bad. If the jar broke and the contents leaked out--sorry-no refunds. I don't understand why that is allowed. As long as you submit photos of the mold/damage, I think they should refund you. Why should I have to pay for damaged goods or items the vendor improperly stored or packaged?

I am kind of weird about pedicures, but I am always glad when I've gone. I kind of have to psych myself up to go. I hate making small talk, but I don't want to be rude, so I talk a little bit. When I had my pedicure on Friday, my husband had the owner doing his pedicure. She kept trying to talk to me, but I didn't want my tech to think I was ignoring her, so I tried to disengage from the conversation. Then I just closed my eyes and let myself enjoy the pedicure and the massage chair. So, when I was getting my manicure, she asked my husband what was wrong with me! My husband told her I am just a quiet person when I am around people I don't know very well. She was also making comments about the size of my husband's feet and winking at me. I was like, really? I am not a prude, but I think that's embarrassing, both for my husband and myself.

Hello-

Checking in with my yoga and walking. I did both a bit early today, since we have a heat advisory, which turned into an excessive heat warning. I went out a 8:30 and I was drenched by the time I came back. I might try for 5:30 AM tomorrow morning, the sun seemed so strong when I was out today.

I'm just lying low and chugging water. So exciting. :p
