Taper is kind of making me nuts. I went for a 4 mile run yesterday, which felt OK, but missing my cross training is maddening. I want to be bad, but I also don't want to hurt myself. I seriously thought about yoga, but it's not part of my normal routine. I'd hate to overdo it and be in pain for flying. As it is, I feel like I should be walking around in bubble wrap...and I'm "only" doing three of the races. I know...22.4 miles isn't nothing. Maybe it's because I just ran a half, but I'm starting to feel like I didn't challenge myself enough. I guess we'll see how I feel by this time next week when I'm coming down from everything and getting ready to get back to normal life. I think I'm going to do abs though...not the baby shark variety...just enough to engage my core for a bit.

Beyond that, just getting my last minute stuff done...since the kids go back to school tomorrow and I need them ready for me being gone as well. I'm just about done packing...although, I should probably weigh my bag to see how close I am to the limit. I am not a light packer. I'd like to think I've save a bit in weight by packing my race shoes in my personal item bag. Yeah...probably not :hilarious:

Hey y'all. Long time no (see?) Don't ask how I'm doing, I'm looking after elderly parents. So: not good.

The holidays are over, so maybe we've all ceased entertaining, but here's a very useful quickie hors d'oeuvre for any time of year.

Smoked Salmon Spread = equal amounts (1 oz, 2 oz, 4 oz, whatever) of smoked salmon, goat cheese and cream cheese. Whiz them around in a blender or chopper, spread the results on crackers or whatever makes you happy.

You're welcome. ;) Love y'all lots.

Yeah, don't risk it. You've come so far, you don't want to injure yourself because you're feeling antsy. I think you're more than prepared despite feeling not challenged enough!

Good morning ☀

I did a yoga practice called "Cardio" and "core" today. I wasn't expecting intervals of sprinting in place, but there they were! My neck is sore, because I couldn't get video to stream onto my tv, so I used my iPad. I needed to wrench my head to see the screen. I need to mess around with the router later on.

I am hoping to get out for a walk before the rain/snow hits. After Thursday, the temps shoot up into the upper 50s and upper 60s.

Tonight, I am making coconut chicken curry with pineapple salsa for dinner. I love this one.

Have a wonderful Tuesday, everyone. 🌸

Thank you. It sounds delicious, I love goat cheese in anything.

Hope to see more of you in these parts. :)

After the carb and sodium heavy fried rice, today's lunch is low carb. Smoked wings with a marinated cabbage salad I threw together. It has cabbage, grape tomatoes, pickled jalapeños, shredded white cheddar cheese, ham and Robusto Italian dressing.

Good morning 5 inside miles done. The turkey soup, curried lentils and greens and Tex Mex rice and beans are all cooking:joyfull: I'm on my way Home with Adrienne which so far is my second favorite series after 30 days of yoga. It's amazing how much gets done with the holidays and man colds over.

The soup sounds yummy. I have started and stopped the 30 days of yoga with Adrienne a few times and never made it past day 5, but I have restarted it again and just finished day 8! I'm doing it after work so I am enjoying it more, probably because my body is a little more warmed up for it. When I tried it before it was in the morning, I don't think I was ready for it then. Anyway, this time I'm planning to finish it out and maybe move on to another group of her videos.
