Thanks, I'll check that out, but technically if something is not half bad, then isn't it still half bad? I crack myself up. Tell myself jokes...some I have heard, some I haven't.
Seriously, I will check out Cooking Light. Have picked up an issue or two on the newsstand, but have not tried the website.

Sorry I missed you today, @figmentfan423 ! I have been busy trying to get my printer to work. I had to finally delete it, then add it again. I hate that thing!!
Anyhoo, I have been up since before 8 am this morning, which is early if you know my schedule. LOL
I got my walking in yesterday evening before the DH came home to mow. I may wait a bit to see if we can walk after dinner. It is supposed to rain, but we shall wait and see. We really like to walk after work, so he can unwind and we can share our day before settling down for the night.
Breakfast was yogurt and granola. Lunch is a turkey and veggie sandwich (1/2) and fruit. Dinner is chicken and tomato avocado salad. Sipping on crystal light drops in my water all day. It is the only way I can drink water!!
Everybody take care of your aches and pains!! Tough to get older!! Have a glorious and happy afternoon guys!!;)

Thanks for asking. Just trying to eat better than I have been and trying to be more active and less depressed. It is a long process and I usually have little patience.
Been trying some different green smoothies, but to make them taste better I have to put in a lot of fruit, then I get a lot of carbs...wow really sounds like I am whining doesn't it?
No change is hard. If you need a little sweetness to get used to the smoothies try stevia, no carbs and much more natural. Not like nasty artificial sweeteners. I've got to give you lots of credit because change isn't easy at our age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is the truth...we have been reading labels for a long time, but the biggest surprise is the amounts of carbs in stuff like purchased juices, apple, orange etc...
Fortunately, bacon has no carbs...and everything tastes good with bacon, except maybe bacon tofu!
ROFLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't eat as much tofu and tempeh as you think! LOL There's a rainbow of beans out there. I like edame in salads and I also like quinoa, just make sure to rinse it very well.

YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So now I am going to ask for some advice...I looked at some jars of five bean salad at Sam's Club the other day. It looked really good, but had about 10 grams of sugar per serving, so I did not buy it. Do you think a person could pour it in a colander and rinse thoroughly, and make it better or best to just avoid it? I like the idea of a pre made bean salad, and like the vinegar base they are pickled in, but don't like the idea of that much sugar and no idea how to make my own.

Yes rinsing will help a bit but I really like to make my own so I can control what goes in it. I soak and cook my own beans and for bean salad I like apple cider vinegar. But that's just me, my dh is on a low sodium diet and I cook almost everything in the house from scratch.

I bet my wife will help figure out how to do that with apple cider vinegar...so, stevia in place of sugar?
