Hi and thanks for the warm welcome :)
I do some of her older workouts. I completed 30 day shred. After that I started alternating the three different workouts and additionally did two short workouts from an app I use: one for abs, one for legs and hips, all in one go. Only around 40 minutes total, but very effective. I rest for a day when I feel like I have to

I think I would like to do start 6 week sixpack next week.
I really enjoy her workouts (after the initial pain, haha).
I have been wanting to try yoga inferno, but I am not very flexible and I would hate to mess anything up by not exercising a pose correctly.
If you want to add in yoga try she's nice and mellow eases you into moving into poses and keeps reminding you don't hurt yourself. As for Inferno it's ok but weird the sunglasses and them on the beach make me laugh. Of JM's 2 yoga workouts I like Meltdown better, but as always only IMHO

I like the 30 days of Yoga, I'll be starting up the yoga again soon with school being done next week!

You'll have to let us know what you think of the sixpack workout. I'm looking to add and shake up things in my ab work. I know the pain, but as long as it's just soreness, it's good. I've tried yoga, but my flexibility comes from dance. Not that I was an amazing dancer or anything, but I did it long enough that I tend to let dance brain take over when I see overlap in some of the yoga I've tried. 40 minutes can still be a really solid workout as long as it's quality time.

I started the 6 week sixpack a while ago, but then tore some ligaments running, so I never got past the first workout. I did like it. I don’t remember how much jumping was involved in it, so I might have to adjust some elements.

I’m doing the same with 30 day shred. My foot and shins really hate high-impact jump moves. But I have found ways to adjust them so they don’t hurt those areas I’m having issues with.

I started off with a training run this morning. Weekends are supposed to be about endurance and distance. I strayed a bit from my training plan since it only called for a 1.5 mile run. It just felt silly to have my endurance run be shorter than the mileage I'm putting in on my weekday speed training runs. So, I ran a 5k. I was a little bit slower than my speed run on Thursday, but this is the fastest 5k I've logged so far. I ran with bands on both knees today, which really helped some knee popping I'd been feeling. I also found a free app that comes in with my run/walk intervals, so I'm not always having to look at my watch (it's an older model without bluetooth and the beeps aren't very loud). It would have been faster had I not gotten "lost" and slowed down a bit in my confusion. Basically, I missed my turn because I got into the run...so, in a way, that's a good thing. After I got home, I biked for a little over 8 miles to loosen up my legs, pulled out the set of 12lb dumbbells for triceps, shoulders, and back, and tripled my ab workout.

While not technically a workout, I took the puppies to the vet to have them weighed and get their flea/tick/heartworm meds. I felt like a 1-woman three ring circus in there. And if that wasn't enough, I decided to bathe them both at the same time.

Six pack is ok I like buns and thighs better. This is my favorite for when I want to do only core 378436

I think puppy wrangling should be considered a sport. It's certainly exercise.

So how much does a powder puff cost? Does it have to be a specific kind of powder puff? Can you just buy powder puffs at walmart or target? I don't wear makeup, so I'm sorry if these are dumb questions...I really have no clue.

It's not a dumb question at all. Make up has gotten ridiculous in the past 20 years. The power puff thing--this is something I am seeing cosmetic companies do now, especially the higher end ones. They sell you a product, but not the applicator. This powder recommends you use the brand's own powder puff--it's $16. Not buying it. They sell 4 for two bucks at Target.

Thank you! And I agree. Four months is plenty of time and this first month and a half has been so great, I am starting to enjoy the pain I feel while working out, haha.

Good luck for your interview :D Whew, 4-5 hours is very long. I hardly ever use foundation during the summer. I don't know whether this is available in the US, but during the summer I use something called "M.Asam Magic Finish". It is like a lightly tinted primer, that is supposed to match every skin tone. It keeps my face matte all day and makes my skin look super smooth. It works great for me, while my sister didn't like it at all. It cost me around 20€.

Thank you! I am so nervous about it. lol

I googled around for that M. Asam Magic Finish and it looks intriguing. I am flying to my interview on Tuesday, so it wouldn't get here on time anyway. But I did watch a You Tube video of a German make up artist who tried it. She had alabaster white skin with lots of redness from acne. She opened the jar and I thought that there was no way she was going to be able to wear it, because it is so deep toned. She put it on and it looked orange. But after a minute or two, it perfectly matched her skin tone! It was wild. It looks like it's good for those days where you don't want to wear make up, but you need to look like you made an effort. LOL

Good luck and for that type of heat and humidity you may also want to get Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray. BTW the powder may be best applied with a powder brush for a more natural finish. Get a brush or puff whatever is cheaper;)

Maybe I'll go to Sephora later and see what they recommend. I just dread dealing with sales people, because they end up trying to push other stuff on you. I did try the setting powder and it seemed the put off the oiliness a little bit longer. I am hoping there will be breaks so I can blot my face. My interview at American only gave a five minute break and they locked you out if you weren't back in time. There was a line for the women's restroom and I didn't want to be sent to the airport because I couldn't get back into the room on time.

When I think of yoga today, it reminds me of the Charlie Brown Christmas special and how Lucy remarks that it's now all run by some big eastern syndicate. Still, I think it's a fair comparison. Commercialism and capitalism latches onto something rooted in spirituality and turned it into some kind of corporate monster because of the cash cow potential. Back before the kids were born, a friend tried getting me into some yoga and pilates videos and while I didn't have any background in either one, I guess I expected more spirituality and centering vs. "feel the burn." That was my sign that things were happening, but not having a yoga base before it, I had very little frame of reference. Now I'm even more lost with all of the current yoga posts and class descriptions.

Ultimately, the posts from that acro-yoga friend felt more like showboating than an actual love for yoga. I'm sure many of these selfies and IG accounts are the same. Of course, these are the same kinds of people who have to get the perfect selfie at the Grand Canyon and wind up going over the edge.

That Lucy remark is so true! :hilarious:

I just do my thing. I really don't like to tell people I do yoga. I feel like I fall into the maligned, stereotype of a woman who does yoga. "Basic, suburban, mom, etc." Outside of people here, only my husband and a few friends know I do yoga.

Yeah, a lot of the powder comes with nothing these days, but I agree with @figmentfan423 about a brush. My 12 year old even informed me that my foundation should be applied with a brush. I had no idea! Obviously, everyone's skin is different, but I have found that I don't need much in the way of powder down here. I needed it all the time when I lived in NJ and NY, but I rarely use it here. I'm wondering if it's because I use a foundation with a matte finish. Of course, I've also been here for some time, so it may also be that my skin has adjusted to the area. Still, I know it's for an interview, so you want to plan in case it really is needed. We will probably be mid 90s when you're here, but humidity may not be awful if it's warmer (unless it rains). It's usually much worse in the mornings. It's 91 right now and humidity is only 54%, but I'm sure it was closer to 85% this morning. What does still react to humidity for me is my hair. I know not everyone has curls that expand and frizz, but if you have hair that reacts, I'd plan for that.

I use a matte foundation, too. I think I am just this mega oil producing machine. Even in the coldest, driest Chicago winters, my face would be slick with oil. I have no idea what it's like to have dry skin. Neutrogena used to make this oil absorbing face wash, but it had those plastic micro-beads in it, so I stopped using it. But it made the oil manageable.

It's supposed to be stormy on Wednesday, so I am packing my straightening iron. I am wearing my hair in a low pony, but I am bringing all sorts of stuff to keep any fly aways at bay.

I've decided I am not wearing red lipstick this time. Everyone says to wear red lipstick to flight attendant interviews. I don't feel comfortable in it and I have no intention of wearing it when I am working. There is absolutely no requirement to wear it, either. LOL

I used to have the Couch to 10K app. It was good that it let you play your own music and sets the intervals for you. I haven't used it in a while and I probably won't as long as I am living here. I've walked into so many gnat swarms. They've gotten in my eyes and I've had to get them out. I don't want to inhale them either. :hungover:

Hello-

Yesterday I did some yoga and walked.

I did my walk early today and my plans are to do some restorative yoga before bed tonight. It supposed to storm here, so I got my walk in early. I just have to do stuff like get my nails done and get some last minute items before I fly Tuesday.

I feel like I am as prepared as I can be. My husband offered to practice with me, but I declined. He'll say things like, "I would say it like this." or "I would stress this, instead." So, I stopped practicing with him. If I said the things he thought I should say, it would feel inauthentic and that would probably come through. It's just nit-picky stuff, too! Besides, I've done the research, I know what they are looking for. :p

My husband bought some pulled pork yesterday, so I made some cole slaw and homemade brioche buns to serve with it. I made 6 buns. I only had one, but the human garbage disposal (AKA my son) had three. I guess I should be flattered and not angry? :hilarious:
