Have not logged on this week at all. A very, very sucky week. One of my brothers died suddenly Monday afternoon. I'm going through all those stages of grief but haven't reached acceptance yet. I was not very close to this brother, and now I never will be able to tell him any of the things I always wanted to in order to try to make things right. Too late for that now and I am sick about it.
Me, my other brother (who I do spend time with and consider us to be kinda close) and my sister have now lost all grandparents, momma, daddy and now middle brother. Getting old I guess. Funeral service was long, three speakers, five songs, then full military honors graveside as my brother served in the Navy and was aboard the USS John F. Kennedy during the first Gulf War (Desert Storm).
Here recent is a pic of my brother.

I'm sorry you didn't get the chance to make things right with him before he passed. I hope you can find peace with it...it's hard carrying around the baggage of emotions left unresolved. He looks so young!! How old was he, if I may ask?
Wow....I think 55 IS really young. I thought my mom was young when she passed and she was 2 weeks from her 64th birthday. How sad that he went so soon. It doesn't seem like enough time, does it?He was 55, two years younger than me. We both are (or in his case, was) much more handsome and younger looking than we have a right to be.
I'm gonna share one more photo then shut up.
While going through some of his things to find some photos for the visitation, we found this old photo that I did not even know existed. It is my Grandad and me and the photo had to have been taken in maybe 1962 or 1963. I look to be maybe two or three years old in this pic. It was cool finding this, but I wish I had found it under difference circumstances.

Hi Figgy! I've missed you! MIL is doing better today. She fell the first day at the rehab center but is ok. She tried climbing into bed from her wheelchair and missed. And this morning around 4:30 she decided she wanted to go home and rolled out of the bed. They x-rayed her and no damage. Ugh! Hopefully her mind will gradually return to normal soon. The nurse said she has post-surgery dementia from the anesthesia and pain meds. She is one stubborn cookie! FIL visited her today and said she looked good so keeping fingers crossed.Sorry I didn't check in here for a few days. @epcotisbest how are you holding up? @93boomer how's your MIL?
Cannot like that snow and ice. We only had a thin coat of ice on Saturday but it melted off by afternoon. I need some stretching out too. I feel tight from all the stress! Lunch sounds really good. Are you feeling lots better?Snow and iced in today. The perfect day for Barre to stretch me out. Carrot ginger soup for lunch and steamed broccoli and salad for dinner.
Anything and everything depending on my mood and what's in the house. I start with a leafy green and go from there. By green I do not mean iceburg!!!!!!!!!! Think romaine, butter red or green leaf lettuce. Spinach, kale( usually baby or heavily massaged), cabbage, etc.. Most days some shredded carrot. Sometimes broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, green beans all of which can go in raw or cooked. Some days beans, tofu, lentils, tempeh or quinoa depending on my mood. Most days some onion again either raw or cooked. Tomatoes and cukes depending on the season. Sometimes sprouts. Sometimes fruit and or nuts. Tonight is spring mix, carrot, pearand walnut with a strawberry dressing. I have both on hand. When the weather is nice and I do a lot of walking I'll add some brown rice.By the way @figmentfan423 I need some good salad ideas. What ingredients do you use in your salads?
Thank you so much! I love salads but we tend to throw them together with just lettuce, cuke and tomatoes. Then, we never get full.Anything and everything depending on my mood and what's in the house.
