Wow, that is high for S/D.
Exactly why I take flip-flops to wear in the room. Yeah, I'm strange like that.
I love North Topsail. We used to go years ago when our DD was little. It is such a nice, quiet beach. At least it used to be. Hope you have a wonderful time!!!

I am too. I can't stand to have my bare feet on the floor. I am always wearing slippers. I step out of the bath/shower into slippers.Exactly why I take flip-flops to wear in the room. Yeah, I'm strange like that.
I know you stay at S/D. I looked at prices for our trip--they wanted $425/nt--before resort fee and taxes. That was a basic room, no balcony, no theme park view. I'd like to stay there and I've eaten at Il Mulino several times, but that's approaching Ritz/Four Seasons pricing. :O
The only time you'll see very high pricing like that is either during a peak holiday period, or if there is a large convention (or conventions) going on, and rooms are at a premium. Just depending upon various circumstances, I've paid in the low $200s up to $375 for a high (Epcot fireworks balcony). I don't know when you're travelling, but the price you quoted is very high for Swalfin.
There are various discounts, too. I'm a member of AAA auto club. and I've used that discount many times down there.
Yes, that's what I have seen in the past, too. I didn't book a vacation for us until about 5-6 weeks ago (for next week), because of my house sale up in the air. So, that's probably I got crazy prices. I do intend to stay there sometime. I know people knock it, but I think it looks nice. I've walked around the grounds many times and that grotto pool looks awesome.
Can't understand why anyone would knock the hotels (unless they just didn't care for the exterior design--it is radical). They're both very good hotels.
The point is you shouldn't have to. I bring flip flops and bleach sprayYeah, I'm going to bring house slippers going forward. Good idea.
I feel you pain in the wallet. Maybe I can find a good bogo sale on throughsI am thinking of just filling a trough for my son. My grocery bill has gone up since school ended.
@Sans Souci check to see if your dh gets a discount there with his work ID.The only time you'll see very high pricing like that is either during a peak holiday period, or if there is a large convention (or conventions) going on, and rooms are at a premium. Good for you!I ate my standard half-fat vanilla yogurt with blueberries and oats this morning, with a mandarin orange. Then DD and I made smoothies for lunch..banana, pear, mandarin, blueberry, raspberry, and I also ate a few turkey slices. Then I had a chicken and rice curry dish for dinner. I couldn't ride my bike to work tonight as they predicted thunderstorms again and lightning is a big no-no on my bike. But I did walk for 3 out of the 4 hours tonight, and I'm scheduled 3 more evenings this week, so I'll still get my exercise in.
