working out for Disney

Stop worrying about the scale. How your jeans fit is more important, weight can go up after eating out due to water retention and you've been under a bit of stress. So relax eat healthy and keep working out. You'll be fine:joyfull:

Agree. Fixating on the scale is what derails more people when they're really trying to lose weight.

Scales are a good guideline, but to me, it's more important how your clothes fit.

Hello--

It's really muggy here today. I went for a walk this morning. It started out humid, but cloudy. It felt just about tolerable. About 20 minutes in, the sun came blazing out. It felt like someone was breathing on me. LOL

I might do a quick work out a little later, it's sunny, then raining. My sinuses are toast. I am also waiting for my son's friends to leave. I'd rather workout without an audience. LOL

I agree. I know this is stupid, but I hate getting the little messages about gaining weight from Weight Watchers. I really like Weight Watchers, but I think there are other metrics that can be used to gauge fat loss, such as measurements. Many years ago, I did a really heavy lifting program that was four months long. I only lost 7 lbs, but I went down 2 dress sizes.

Oh, I hadn't thought of a burn, but yes, that could be. I'm glad my husband doesn't like the look of waxed/plucked eyebrows...I don't have to endure the torture. Not that I would, even if he DID like it, but it makes me feel less guilty for not willing to endure that for him. :hilarious:

I've been waxing long before I met my husband. I have jet black eye brows and I am super pale. My mother always made fun of my eye brows growing up, so she started taking me. If I had lighter colored eye brows, I wouldn't bother, either. But they do get thick if I don't keep them in check.

I was thinking the other day how recently it seems like eye brows are a thing right now. I always see ads for eye brow pencils to fill them out. This was always something older women did. You can also get "brows" micro bladed on. They have this fine blade and the tech dips it ink and draws feathered lines into your skin, like a tattoo. Yeah, I'll pass. I won't even mention the eye brows that look like someone used a stencil and a Sharpie. I don't understand where this brow obsession came from. It's so arbitrary. lol

TWO dress sizes? That's AWESOME! I've taken clothing to a local tailor for years now. He once told me that in women's clothing, each size relates to 10 pounds. So if you're down TWO sizes--that's in the range of 20 pounds.

The thing I always hear is to remember that muscle weighs more than fat. That's why most places do measurements, not only weight, because at a certain point, you'll not lose pounds as fast because the muscle build up is putting the pounds back on, even though you've lost a lot of fat. You can not use weight alone as the sole measure of progress.

I remember my mom drawing in her brows and I thought it looked kind of ridiculous. I'm just really low maintenance when it comes to stuff like that. I wasn't allowed to wear makeup in high school, so I never really learned how and I just never bothered. I wear it for choir performances because stage lights wash you out and I'm already blindingly pale. And once in a while I'll wear it for a party, but not always. I don't really follow trends in clothing style...I wear what I like and is comfortable. If it's not in style, I don't care. I'm not dressing every day to impress someone else. So I really have no idea what's in fashion or not. I'd just rather be comfortable.

Interesting. You know what I've always wondered? Why do women's sizes go in twos? It's always an even number...14/16, 8, 18. Why no odd numbers? And why don't they seem to relate to any concrete measurement? a 16 in one place is 12 in another. And you have to try everything on because it's not standardized and doesn't go by measurements. So like...Men's pants....if you know their height and waist measurements, you just grab the corresponding sized garment. But 18 in women's clothing...18 what? It's not centimeters or inches, so how do you know what an 18 is?

Juniors sizes are odd numbers and misses are even. At one point in time before vanity sizing a 4 could fit into a 3 or 5 if she wasn't too curvy. Juniors are cut a little straighter. You're right nothing is standard any more not even in the same clothing line. I think it's a way to make you spend more time in a store trying on clothes. More time in a store equals more money spent:cautious::brb:

Good morning no workout for me today. I wish it was a zen day but it's a cooking day. I've already got the beans almost ready to come out of the pressure cooker and into the oven, the potatoes and pasta are cooling ready to get turned into salads. The A/C is running because as soon as the beans are ready to go into the oven, I'll also pop in some corn bread and a cake. It's BBQ day at my house.

Ladies yesterday in my travels I went into a 5 Below for something for James. Yea they had water shoes and there's seem to run a bit narrow like his feet. Not to mention I'm not even sure they'll be the same size next month so $5 ones work great for him:) Now to the shopping alert. The ladies only item for workouts worn up top, I found one there and I figured for $5 I'd try one out because the one I liked was discontinued:mad::mad::mad::mad:. I got it home and wore it for my practice and all I could say was:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: YES! Supportive but not squishy:joyfull::joyfull::joyfull: I'm going back for more because it's super comfy and does the job it was intended to do. Your mileage may vary.

It's crazy. I took measurements once a month and stayed off the scale. I do like lifting weights, but this program required going to a gym (because I don't have all the equipment at home) and it was super boring. Each workout took over an hour. :hungover:

I try not to use the oven in the summer. My kitchen gets a lot of natural light, so it's warm all the time in the summer. My son like to eat food that require using the oven, though.

I am making chili in my Instant Pot and then I am making cheesecake in half pint Mason jars in the Crock Pot for the 4th. :inlove:

Hello--

My husband works a mile and a half from home, so this morning he asked me to walk with him to see how long it take to walk, just out of curiosity. I don't think he can walk to work, since he wears a suit, plus he needs his car. He has to drive to the bank HQ for meetings. It's kind of a shame. Because it's not a bad walk if the weather is agreeable.

I also did a DVD I haven't done in years, just to shake things up. It used gliding discs, it was fun. She did jumping jacks, burpees and mountain climbers with the discs, which made it low impact.

Good morning 5 miles and weights done so when I get to the pool I get to read, socialize and just float around:joyfull: I tried a new dip out yesterday. 2 cups walnuts soaked over night then drained and put in the food processor until almost like a nut butter, add in 12 med. roasted peeled and seeded red peppers, about 2 tbsp garlic, 1 tbsp cinnamon, 1 tbsp cumin, salt and pepper to taste. Served with raw chopped veggies. Between that and 2 types of hummus I ran out of cucumbers yesterday. Dh has to run to a store today I think he can handle getting cukes by himself:cautious: Today I'm making one with eggplant. Hope you're having a great 4 day weekend with loved ones

Never heard of walnut butter. Is it like peanut butter served as a spread or something?
