Good morning just JM's no more trouble zones, I'm so hoping it warms quickly so I can get out and walk early. Tonight's dinner for the men salmon, broccoli and brown rice. I'm going to make a pineapple salsa to go with it and I'll save some to use in my salad:hungry::hungry::hungry::hungry:

I'm so proud of you! way to go. Just don't let any of those little Debbie's in your house while your dw is away. I don't think she'd like it!:D
Thank you for the encouragement.
I have to admit to being a little bit disappointed this morning. After getting up at 3 a.m. yesterday I thought I might make up for it this morning, but was awake today by about 6:20. Looking forward to Saturday I suppose. After a good long walk with the dogs, I decided today would be a good day to weigh.
I happily got on the scales for the first time in about a month, as I don't like to weigh very often because I find tiny, daily decreases and increases can be discouraging, whereas a nice few pounds decrease ever now and then has a positive psychological effect for me.
So, there it is staring right up at me...five pounds...increase!
I look again and reposition myself on the scales. I get off and get back on two or three times.
I check to see if either dog is putting a paw on the scales playing a doggie practical joke.
I am getting ready to shower so it is not like I have on heavy clothes.
Still, five pounds up.
My 38 waist size pants I was so proud of fitting into are still kinda loose.
So a little bit of googling later I find resuming more activity and exercise can lead to muscle gain and muscle weighs more than fat.
I hope that is the case because Little Debbie is now just a distant memory. Have not had a French fry or tater tot in so long I don't even really crave them any more. Was not even tempted to go by and see what the Dairy Queen had up her sleeve. Did crave pizza, but got over it. Darn TV commercials. I wish Papa John and Pizza Hut would just STHU and go away. I know...I can just turn the TV off or watch a movie, but I am a news junkie and do watch the news for several hours per day, where advertisers bombard viewers constantly.
Now I would be telling a lie if I said I did not still crave a big ole biscuit and some hash browns right now, but I'm gonna have stupid eggs and bacon again...zero carbs...zero interest, but making breakfast for two is fun, for one is just ho hum. I like breakfast together...alone not so much.
OK, this got a little wordy and whiny.
Maybe next month I can drop a few more pounds to counter what I know is positive gain from more activity, even if it feels like a negative.

So here is proof I did not cave to the biscuit craving, though if there happened to be a big ole stack of blueberry pancakes dripping with butter and maple syrup anywhere near me, I think I would have gobbled them up. Good thing there is not an IHOP close by I guess.
I did put some Texas caviar salsa (4 grams carbs) and Valentina salsa picante sauce (zero grams) on the eggs to fight off boredom.
Also had some Victor Allen's pumpkin spice coffee with a hint of nutmeg and cinnamon in it, along with a bit of French vanilla and a bit of hazelnut creamer. Still concerned about the artificial sweeteners in the creamer, but not enough to give it up.
My wife says I just have a bit of coffe with my creamer, and I suppose she is right.

Don't give up, one time after doing quite a bit of lifting I also noticed I gained a bit and I almost lost it mentally. Now that I've realized muscle does weigh more than fat I hardly ever get on a scale and go more by how my clothes are fitting. As long as my jeans fit I'm good:) That papa is not a good parent at all! feeding kids junk is a very bad example of what a healthy person should be!!!!!! Your dw will be home before you know it. Why not surprise her by doing a little extra cleaning, housework does burn calories:):):)

Way to go! Try subbing in real pure extracts for the flavored creamers they're much better for you.

A little kickboxing and walking today. ok maybe more than a little LOL I didn't know you could be both hot and freezing at the same time. It's up to about 40 and I bundled up like it was 20 but the wind was howling and my face froze while the rest of me was sweating:confused:

A few pounds in either direction is nothing major. Your body naturally adjusts itself in due course. I also recall a doctor telling me that as long as you're sticking to your diet, and your weight fluctuates here and there, it's nothing to worry about. The reason is that you're still losing fat, even if the scale numbers throw you off--many people don't take that into consideration, and only focus on the weight seen on the scale.

Hello,

I have been keeping up. We had really bad winds yesterday and I don't know if it was the change in pressure, or what. But I had the worst sinus headache. It was just awful. I watched a movie and called it a night afterwards. I woke up 100% pain-free today. :) But I have been keeping up with my work outs.

I take measurements, especially when I am lifting weights. It definitely messes with your head. The good thing is muscle takes up less space than fat does, so you might not lose much weight, but your body composition is changing. You're trading fat for muscle and muscle is metabolically active, so you're burning calories even when you're watch TV. :)

Good to know. I do have my doubts though because if it were true I have a Grandson that would have disappeared by now.:joyfull:

My wife called a little while ago. They are excited for tomorrow's run. They went to Paradiso 37 at DS tonight as they wanted to try somewhere none of them had been to. She said the food was great. She also said DS was so packed with people they decided to leave after dinner instead of walking around and shopping. If it is too crowded for them to shop, believe me, it must be crowded!
Watched The Martian tonight. Enjoyed it, but it was a bit long and somewhat far fetched.
Resisted pizza again and just grilled some chicken for a no carb dinner. Plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.

Thank you. Yeah, being five pounds up really messed with me for a little while. Gotta stay positive.
