Good morning! LOL At least I have the house to myself for a while, it's going to take forever to get things caught up around here. 3 indoor miles and one outside done and I did the first preset from SR's More Daily Energy. The plan for the next few days is to do one each day and get through the whole DVD. I'm enjoying a green smoothie now and already chopped the veggies for lunch's salad dinner will be leftover lentil taco sans wrap, I'll probably have some brown rice with that and use lettuce to wrap. Please be careful with the awful, nasty and dangerous cold and wind. Keep dancing and most importantly keep warm.

Greetings from ChiBeria!

It is -17 F, but it feels like -55F. I have no idea what I am going to do today, but I am thinking cardio to keep up my body temp. I am going to eat breakfast here shortly and then workout.

Stay safe and warm, everyone and if you are in this "polar vortex," do not go out unless absolutely necessary. You can get frostbite in seconds.

Good morning, it hit -10 and it's now warmed up to -5. I had to get the dog out for a quick walk, she's crazy she didn't want to come in! Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 and preset 2 of SR's More Daily Energy. Veggie soup for breakfast, salad for lunch and still trying to figure out what's for dinner. I'll be bundled up when the dog needs to go out because it's way too cold to send the boys out with her. Fleece leggings 2 pairs of sweat pants 2 long sleeve shirts, a sweater and a flannel shirt, 2 pairs of gloves, ear warmer, hat and a heavy London fog coat with a hood, it was bad but I made it back in one piece. Stay warm and in if you can!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Be careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello-

Checking in with a DVD called "Butts and Guts." OMG, a total butt-burner. I am thinking I might not be able to walk tomorrow. So many squats, dead lift, and lunges and then it was topped off with floor work while wearing ankle weights.

Tomorrow I shall be able to return to yoga, as school resumes and DH goes back to the office. The silence will be deafening.

Good morning! Yes it's better today! -2 when I got up and it's now 2.5 YEA!!!!!!! LOL There's a 2 hour delay today but I should be able to start cleaning in an hour! I danced with Hemalayaa sp? for almost an hour today and did the third preset of More Daily Energy. I might be able to get out and walk Monday! According to our local weather person it should be 40 or so, I'll believe it when I see it. My feet felt frozen just getting the mail! Green smoothie with an added apple for breakfast, lunch is going to be mixed chopped veggies with a walnut dressing and dinner is going to be spaghetti squash with marinara and red beans side of broccoli or kale. Stay warm and safe!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, it's 15 and climbing to 20 something! LOL If I don't laugh I'll cry! Might just start having to start hunting those lying groundhogs soon, if it doesn't start to warm just a bit! JM's ripped in 30 workout 2 and SR's preset 4. I love it when a plan comes together. I'm now starting my morning with a glass of warm water with lemon in it. It's supposed to get your digestive system moving better. Almost 0 calories so it's worth trying for me. That and ginger green tea should really get things moving. LOL Veggie soup for breakfast and my usual for lunch a salad of assorted mixed veggies. Tonight is clean out the fridge night so dinner will be whatever the boys leave me. @King Fergus and @MR FERRET please stay safe, I hear the weather is really bad on the other side of the pond. Stay safe and warm and keep moving.

Hello-

Checking in with Yoga Cross Train. I am going to mix up my work outs just for kicks and, more importantly to prevent shoulder over use from yoga. I have a preexisting injury and I'd like to keep it healed.

Also, I am trying to keep January booze-free. I've not had any wine since NYE. :)

Good evening-

Today I did a cardio/lower body work out called Tonique Premier. It's, like,10001 squats and lunges, with some floor work and abs thrown in. It has a voice over with this English chick who sounds like the Wrigley's Orbit girl who tells me that a better back side will bring lots of male attention (Because I totes live for the approbation of strange men, yo!!!o_O) and will "improve my intimate lifestyle." Gag me with a spoon. Otherwise, it's a decent workout, if not a bit repetitive.

It's warmed up here. It's 40 and raining, I will take that over -20 and no snow.

Day 10 without booze! Yay me!!!!!! :p

How interesting, Jen, I would not have imagined that yoga could tax the shoulders.

I would have expected a video with "Tonique" in the title to have a French-accented voiceover, LOL

Good for you on the booze-free January--I've had two wine-free days this week and thought I was doing good, haha.

Yes, power yoga has a lot plank-type work and push up-type movements. It's really great for building upper body strength. I feel like I gained upper body strength better with yoga than I have in all of my years in lifting weights.

OMG, Siobhan, I had to give up wine for a while. It was gettin' a little cray-cray there with the Holidays. Plus, I could do without the extra calories from wine and the nibbles from the ensuing blood sugar drop. :)

Willpower and a pat on my own back...
Went to an event at the Georgia Dome last night (Monster Jam...something I really did not have a lot of interest in but it wound up being quite entertaining).
Anyway, had box seats with unlimited hotdogs, soft drinks, chips, popcorn etc.
Proud to say I had one hotdog, without the bun, a little bit of coleslaw, chili, mustard and kraut topping the lone wiener. Good thing they had knives and forks, or it would have been messy. I only drank water and did not even have one potato chip the whole time. Did have a little popcorn, but not much.
Would have been easy to overindulge but resisted...a tiny victory in a big battle to lose weight and eat more healthy. I took my own granola bars and some almonds, but did not eat them.

Question for all you healthy people. Have any of you baked with Splenda or had baked goods with Splenda?

I do a fair amount of baking and I only use sugar. I would not advise using straight up Splenda. Your baked goods will be dry. Sugar is hydrophilic and provides moisture to baked goods. I think Splenda makes a baking blend that has some sugar mixed in, so you get that moisture in your cake or cookies. I think you use the same amount of the Splenda Baking Blend as you would for sugar. :)

ETA to add Splenda link http://www.splenda.com/products/sugar-blend

Evening, Peeps--

Just checking in with a yoga practice called "Yoga Cardio." I did something to my left shoulder as I started out, and it felt kind of "iffy," but I soldiered on. It doesn't hurt now. My fingers are crossed because I jacked up my right shoulder in May and spent the summer in PT repairing it. LOL Maybe now I will have a matching set.

Thanks. I have a family with health issues and the doctor recommended using Splenda. I was hoping the baking one wouldn't make things gross. :)

Good luck with the shoulder. I had some shoulder issues and several months of PT last year. Hope you don't have to go through that again.

Good morning! It's near 40 so I got out and walked about 4 miles, just to get some fresh air! JM's biggest loser and some yoga to start the day and I'm doing a juice cleanse today! Say a prayer for @mrdisman as he's been sick since Christmas. Stay warm and keep moving! xoxo
