working out for Disney

It's freezing here today. It snowed here last night and I am not ready for this. I feel like I need to do cardio today, since I am just dragging. My husband is out of town and twice last night, my son came into my room to tell me he heard someone walking around downstairs. So, twice, I had to go looking around for something that wasn't there to placate him. I am toast and I have been chugging coffee since 6 AM.
Uh oh....you didn't bring home some Hitchhiking ghosts from your last Disney trip did you?

Finally back to a normal routine after the 72 hour spiritual retreat of this past weekend. At weigh in I was up .6 of a pound....not bad considering my area of service was the snack room and there were some mighty good looking home baked treats there. So today I am trying to get back in the groove both with my diet and with my exercise.
We are expecting some snow flurries tomorrow. I am in eastern NC and we don't see much snow, so I am excited about the possibility!

Can we talk about saboteurs for a minute...especially if it's your own mother! And after you've already declared your "hiatus" from chocolate, and said mother brings 2-3 packages of chocolate into your house, and when you say, "hey, ma, PLEASE I asked you not to bring chocolate into my house", she says, "you don't look like a piece of chocolate will hurt you, maybe you could do with a piece of chocolate."

My mom eats like cr@p and seems to take each of my healthy choices as a slap against her non-healthy choices. When she comes to me for the weekend, she brings her own potato chips because I don't have a sufficient level of junk food in my house!!! Whereas, my attitude is, you eat what you want to eat, and I'll eat what I want to eat, and just let it be...I don't try to cram fruits & veg down her throat, I don't get why she should try to leave chips and chocolates in my way.

/Vent over.

Thanks for listening.
I can tell you how to get rid of the chocolate cravings....start playing candy crush. Those little chocolate squares are evil! I don't care if I ever see chocolate again!

Hi!!! My DD lives in eastern NC too! We are in the western NC area. Stay safe if the roads do get slippery!;)

So, with all of us talking about wet, windy, cold, snowy weather, not to derail this thread, but it seems like just the right time to talk about the possibility of a Disney cruise!!

@Sans Souci and I went on the 1st Annual WDWMagic Girls Cruise in September and we had a blast, not only enjoying all that the Disney Dream had to offer, but getting to know fellow WDWMagic members. The 2nd Annual Girls Cruise is scheduled for Sept 21-25, 2014, and we are already booked (and rooming together!), so I wondered if any of our "working out for Disney" girls would like to think about joining us next year! Check out this thread for details, ladies! http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/it’s-the-2nd-annual-unofficial-wdwmagic-girls-cruise.875543/

There are a number of trip reports from the girls cruise in the trip reports forum, if you want to check them out. Here's a link to a thread that lists them all, including mine: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/dream-girls-trip-reports.875448/

Also, for @epcotisbest and any of the gents, there's a 1st Annual WDWMagic Couples/Family Cruise being planned. That one will take place in February 2015, see here for as much detail as we've got at present. http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/the-1st-annual-unofficial-wdwmagic-family-cruise-a-poll.875542/

It happens that any cruise booking made before December 15, 2013 can be made with only half the usual deposit, 10% instead of 20%. So you could hold a spot on either (or both!) sailings for under $150, balance due 90 prior to sailing, and also fully cancellable and refundable up until I think 75 days prior to sailing. Ask questions of me or @Sans Souci , or contact Disneyfalcon for information, or to book!!

Just think of all the group walks we could do! ;)

We might be interested in the family cruise!

Aaaannnndddd, my bliss has dissipated after I realized that tomorrow is trash day and I have (10) 30 gallon bags filled with leaves on top of numerous trash and recycling bins to haul out to the curb...and it's 31 F outside. Ugh.

Cold weather bites.

I hope today goes better!!!! When I'm dragging and don't want to over do coffee or tea it's B12 and ginger. I like to put some in water and make a tea.

Good morning and yet again I use that term loosely. LOL Actually other than the weather it's a very good morning. I did 5 indoor miles with boosters. For those who don't know I'm a Leslie Sansone fan, she has aerobics DVDs for those of us with 2 or in my case 3 left feet. o_O The one I did today is the equivalent of 5 miles the first mile is done carrying hand weights, the second one is done with a fast walk with 2 jogging intervals, the third one is done with a belt with stretch resistance cords, the 4th is just a very fast pace and the 5th is done with a stretch band. She is great for getting in shape as she has "walks" from one to five miles. From beginner to more advanced exercisers. Or in other words winter survival for when the weather gets even worse, it's 17 now:mad::mad::mad::mad::rolleyes:. For breakfast I'm having steamed veggies with an almond, balsamic glaze, lunch will be spinach (I'll have lots this week as it's on sale) ginger, lemon, cucumber, celery and pear smoothie and dinner will be leftover "meatloaf" with cauliflower and salad, desert will be a banana berry smoothie. I'll do a solar flow for my afternoon practice, hopefully that will both center me and warm me up. Be safe, keep warm and keep moving forward!

Please remember to stay hydrated this time of year. It's easy to forget to drink enough water when it's not hot out. Your body and especially your skin will thank you.
Good reminder...I personally struggle with staying hydrated and really don't like just water, but I am working on beating the diet soft drink addiction. And I do believe it is an addiction. Those are cans of chemicals...yet I crave it more than some people crave coffee or cigarettes.

Is the solar flow practice a Shiva Rea DVD? In the winter, I always turn a space heater for about 30 minutes in the room where I practice. I feel like it helps me loosen up more quickly and I can go deeper earlier in the practice.
