I take issue with BRUNG. Judge Judy has a conniption whenever one of her litigants uses that word. That and TOOKEN.

The only thing worse than brung is brang. Took me years to convince my husband to stop saying brang.

English's irregular past participles definitely needs to be updated. "Gnawn" is an example of that!

With the waning of prescriptivist grammarians, the 'wrong' past participles are becoming more common as people infer consistent rules rather than memorize rules based on irregular forms. "I would've went with you," is rather common now, and hardly anyone bats an eye anymore when they hear it.

So, 'brung' is a bell that can't be unrought.
