Pictures from yesterday:

Thanks for posting this. I have no construction or professional painting experience. Does anyone know how many coats of gold paint is going on the dome? I think it looks great. This is the mystery project that has my interest. That side of Future World would be in great shape if the open two attractions there to offset the crowds heading to GotG ride.

Same situation (not a pro), but that bit of gold that just went on does look to be the final since it seems to match the backside of the dome (which hasn't been touched for a while so I assume it's finished back there). Unless they need to clear coat it.

Sounds good. A clear coat would protect and make it shine.

blogmickey.com is reporting that WOL will reopen for the Food & Wine festival this year. Can any insiders say if that means there are now no plans to add an actual attraction of any kind or are there still possibly plans in the near future?

Is there any other info out on the festival center besides what is on the festival website? I could be missing it, but all I see is a photo of the 2015 WoL Festival Center by the "Festival Center" section, but when you go under the "what's new" section, it shows one of the kiosks. Couldn't the Odyssey building, or elsewhere, be the Festival Center this year?

That's true.

Disney website is notorious for cutting and pasting last year's events into the current year keeping information that has changed. For two years, their website still had The Fairy Godmother and Cinderella bringing in the Holiday Dream Lights on the castle, even though the show had changed to the Frozen characters.

So, it's possible that:

1. WoL will be used one final time this fall for F&W, then it will transition to the rumored IP attractions, or
2. the rumored IP attractions aren't going to happen after all and it will be F&W forever, or
3. the WoL pavilion will not be used for F&W and the website is wrong thanks to cutting and pasting last year's blurbs

It has beyond embarrassing that in one of the most visted theme parks a former venue of three attractions is being used as a festival center. The oddessy center worked great this past year. With the addition of GotG that side of future world will have three thrill rides, it would be great for WoL to have a D ticket people eating family attraction or non thrill ride ( as a non thrill person I would appreciate being able to do something over there)

Honestly I'd think they would want the Odyssey building to be the festival center to get higher foot traffic, and then higher merch sales. With it being in WoL, especially with UoE closed, it is a little out of the way and just seems to not make sense to have the festival "center" off to the side. I wanted to go last year when we were in Epcot, but I wasn't going to make a special trip there. Yes the Odyssey building is on it's own path, but being right between WS and FW, I feel like more people would see it and go.
