If We Can Dream It Then We Can Do It

I. We Ca. Dream .t .hen We Can D. It

I. We Ca. D.ea. .t ..en .e .an D. .t

I. .e Ca. ..ea. .t ...n .. ..n .. .t

"I. .. C.. ...a. .. ...n .. ... .. .t"

And thus were the final words of Horizons... I worry, but I'm hopeful something good will come of this.

Scary, I have never seen that before.

We can only hope that WOL's ressurection is at hand.

It's only being refurbished. With Mission Space and Soarin, I just don't see anything that major for Wonders of Life for a couple of years. Hopefully, it will reopen and stay open. I say enough of this seasonal crap already!

As said before, Disney can only think of desperate ways to make a quick dollar.

We can only hope that a revival of the classic pavilion is in hand.

I think it's undergoing a major refurb, either to attract a new sponsor or *because* of a new sponsor (that hasn't been announced yet).

Either way, painting the Helix is a GOOD THING :)

Realization: Energy has a rehab/redo scheduled to occur by 2007. Major rennovation will take some time and Energy is a people-eater. Where will they go? I "wonder..."

My full and fleshed out theory:

Energy's rehab/redo schedule is roughly 1-2 years behind the Land, as seen in the Land's 94 rehab and Energy's 96 rehab. That means Energy is scheduled to close soon-ish. The Energy sign between it and Wonders was recently removed. Energy is fairly popular in terms of attendance - far more than say Figment's Imagination and holds more people than Turtle Talk ever could, but both of those are EMH attractions while Energy was recently removed from both morning and night schedules.

If Energy closes, roughly 1/3 of the park's daily attendance needs to be re-routed. Dr. Phil says past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior. When World of Motion closed, they re-opened Horizons. When Energy closes, I think they'll re-open Wonders to compensate.

In the meantime, Wonders is getting spiffed up to be presentable - in its last few openings it was abysmal looking, and these were during periods when the park was full of Imagineers and higher-ups who were watching/working on Soarin's costruction.

My vote? It's a death-knell for Energy and a final hoorah for wonders before it's torn down like Horizons.

Living Seas is also schedulled to go down for major changes. This, with Energy, will cut a LOT of family-friendly areas.

Mouser - do you have any information regarding the UoE closure?

Also: For Seas to go down, they'd have to stop 3 different tours, Dolphins in Depths, Dive Quest, and Seas Aqua Tour - none of which have been stopped yet.

Please stay to topic....

I hope its not another Horizons case, but history shows that its going to be that way. When looking at losses of great attractions at Epcot, like Horizons and especially JIYI, I say, appreciate what is there/left while it is still there/left, because when its not there/left you won't like what you find...

It is on topic, justifying a potential Wonders of Life reopening.

And I wouldn't consider JIYI an "especially great attraction." :lookaroun :p

A few notes....

The "Ellen" sign has been gone for quite a while.....it is not a recent removal.

After seeing the painting going on of the DNA helix a few weeks back (around 5/3 or so) and seeing the rust spots that were sanded prior to being painted, the painting could be more "preventitive maintenance" than anything else.....if the structure rusts too much, it could become structurally unsound, and cause a future issue.

If UoE or TLS go down for rehab, I would think WoL would be reopened during that time period, but probably be reopened in its current state.

I do not feel that TLS will go down for any lengthy rehabs.....be design, they have the ability to close it off piece by piece, as they have done with the 3 Nemo rooms over the past 2 years. Also, remember that they can always use the Exit as the main entrance for a period of time, and that the left movie theater is not currently in use.....The only time the pavilion would really need to be taken out of service is if the heart of Sea Base Alpha was to get an update, but that would be mainly cosmetic, and should not take long.

As I have posted before, I think the next rehab to UoE will be lengthy, and will completely change the concept of the attraction. I do not think the 45 minute movie-based format is appealing to the masses anymore (although I love it). That being said, with MS and Soarin opening recently, I do not see this happening in the near future.

Thanks for giving your opinion there. What that so hard? ;) *He knows what I'm talking about*

Seriously though, you're right. I mean if people didn't have the patience to sit through the entire Tiki Room show, God knows that a 45 minute attraction has to make some people go bonkers. It's too bad that so many attractions have to be dumbed down or shortened nowadays.

Well, it is not as easy to entertain people as it was 20 years ago. When Epcot opened, it was edutainment with the focus on education. It has been changed more towards slight edutainment (if any at all) with the focus on entertainment.

The masses seem to enjoy the quick thrill, not the longer entertaining experience.

Oh I agree. I just think it's a shame. And while I do enjoy quick thrills, I definately prefer Horizons and World Of Motion type attractions (Not just because of the AA's, but also the ride lengths). But I know we are the fans....
