Woah! Are they allowed to do this?

I would assume that going as far out of the boat as those skippers did would definitely earn them a couple safety points on their record. Leaning out of the boat with both feet on the floor of the boat is probably fine. But not going that far.
One slip of the hand, and they're out of the boat, possibly getting hit or run over by the boat, and leaving a boat full of Guests without a skipper. There is no possible way that actions like that could be condoned by management. (It's an OSHA investigation just waiting to happen)

What the skip was doing in the first video is grounds for termination. What happened to Ian was a mistake, he wasn't trying to go completely out of the boat.

Leaning on the rail and flailing isn't a problem. Most skips do it, and it adds to the show.

Which skipper? Danger Bob? Which one is Ian?

Danger Bob did not get out the boat, another skipper who appeared in the distance of the DB video did. The skipper by the name of Ian is in the second youtube link of this thread.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
There need to be more skippers like Danger Bob! I've no doubt that doing that show all day every day would be a very tiresome job, but he (regardless of whether or not all of his stuff is Disney approved) is what that ride NEEDS!

Agreed. The job is some of the most fun you can have as a cast member, unfortunately management breathes down skippers' necks too much. Most of what Danger Bob says isn't supposed to be said, and most skips aren't willing to take the chance of saying it.

I on the other hand take that chance every time I work. I'm personally going to do all I can to get a laugh.
